{"id":143037,"date":"2025-11-20T06:34:08","date_gmt":"2025-11-20T06:34:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/143037\/"},"modified":"2025-11-20T06:34:08","modified_gmt":"2025-11-20T06:34:08","slug":"allied-pharmacies-take-over-dozens-of-jhoots-branches","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/143037\/","title":{"rendered":"Allied Pharmacies take over dozens of Jhoots branches"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Before the Allied takeover, there were 153 Jhoots pharmacies registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Manjit Jhooty, who is responsible for 24 Jhoots pharmacies through his companies, said previously the trading name Jhoots was used by several, independent companies and that his branches remained &#8220;fully functional&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Sarbjit Jhooty &#8211; Manjit&#8217;s brother &#8211; was responsible for the remaining 129 branches via companies he owns alongside his business partner Nilam Patel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The 60 branches taken over by Allied Pharmacies &#8211; which includes stores in Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset and Devon &#8211; were all previously run by Sarbjit and Ms Patel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Neither Sarbjit or Ms Patel responded to the BBC&#8217;s request for comment on the takeover, however Sarbjit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/cly73n2drg4o\" class=\"ssrcss-f6h2dj-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">previously admitted there had been issues at his pharmacies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He blamed &#8220;workforce and recruitment challenges&#8221; which he said had been a problem &#8220;for many years&#8221;. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Before the Allied takeover, there were 153 Jhoots pharmacies registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
