Mel C<\/a> has suggested that there could be a Spice Girls<\/a> reunion happening in 2026, in time to celebrate their 30th anniversary.<\/p>\n

The singer, also known as Sporty Spice, touched upon the future of the girl group during a new interview on Good Morning America.<\/p>\n

Appearing on the chat show to promote her ninth solo album, \u2018Sweat<\/a>\u2019, the pop star was asked by the hosts if she and fellow bandmates, Victoria Beckham<\/a>, Emma Bunton<\/a>, Geri Halliwell<\/a>, and Mel B<\/a>, had any plans to reunite for their upcoming milestone in 2026.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remain optimistic,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s our 30th anniversary next year. We toured in 2019, we did a few stadium shows in the UK and it was incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re just so proud of the legacy that we have, and we have fans now from new generations who are just loving the Spice Girls, so I would like to get back on stage with the girls,\u201d she added. \u201cWe\u2019re talking and we\u2019re seeing what opportunities are out there. The thing that stops us is we feel so precious about it, we want to make sure it\u2019s the right thing and agree on the right thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Mel C mentioned, the group did embark on a reunion tour in 2019<\/a>, but that line-up did not include Beckham. The last time all five members performed together publicly was at the London Olympics closing ceremony in 2012<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While rumours have circulated for years now, and nothing has materialised since 2019, it does appear that hopes for a return have been mounting in the run up to 2026.<\/p>\n

Last spring, all five members came together for a surprise performance at Victoria Beckham\u2019s 50th birthday party<\/a>, and before then, Mel B at a potential appearance in the Legends\u2019 slot at Glastonbury <\/a>in 2023 (she would later shut the rumours down, saying it didn\u2019t work logistically for the group.<\/a>)<\/p>\n

Since then, Geri Halliwell-Horner promised earlier this year that there \u201cwill be something\u201d on the way from the group<\/a>, and Mel B spoke out again this spring, saying that she is \u201calways game\u201d when it comes to a reunion tour<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Emma Bunton also made a nod to the group last Christmas when she dropped a festive version of Spice Girls\u2019 \u20182 Become 1\u2019<\/a>, and Mel C dropped more hints before this most recent Good Morning America interview, previously saying it was \u201ctime\u201d that the five of them got back together.<\/a><\/p>\n

Most recently, Victoria Beckham \u2013 who sat out of the 2019 tour \u2013 also chimed in on the hopes for a Spice Girls comeback. She teased the prospect after going to see one of Oasis\u2019 \u2018Live \u201825\u2019 tour dates at Wembley<\/a>, and looking at the huge hype the Britpop giants managed to gather by reuniting.<\/p>\n

Sharing a photo of the crowd, she simply wrote \u201cTempting\u2026\u2026\u201d on Instagram Stories, and tagged each of her former bandmates.<\/p>\n
