This Sunday will see Celtic FC Women face off against Partick Thistle<\/a> as they look to get back to winning ways in the SPWPL.<\/p>\n

It will also see Emma Lawton<\/a> go up against her former club, who she joined the Hoops from just over a year ago.<\/p>\n

It has been a whirlwind 12 months for the defender, who recently celebrated making her 50th appearance for the Ghirls.<\/p>\n

Now, as she prepares for another Scotland camp with the international break on the horizon, it is all eyes on returning to winning ways.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Celtic TV ahead of Sunday\u2019s match, Lawton reflected on what the build-up to the game has been like, with the Hoops coming off the back of a narrow 3-2 defeat at Ibrox last time out.<\/p>\n

It was a disappointing result, but the 24-year-old insists the tempo in training has been good as they aim to learn from it and get a good result at New Douglas Park.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cI think it was a really disappointing result for us. In the first half especially, we feel like we played really well.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe probably should have taken more of our chances to kill the game off, and that allowed Rangers to come back into it.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was obviously a disappointing end result. We\u2019ve tried to learn as much as we can from it and hopefully, we can take that into this game.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the start of the week, there was naturally still that kind of disappointment. But as the week has gone on, we\u2019ve really rallied together.<\/p>\n

‘Training has been really good this week. There has been a good tempo about it.’<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, hopefully we can go out and put in a good performance to get a good result on Sunday.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, since Lawton\u2019s days as a Jag, it is already much changed with a new manager in Gary Holt recently taking over the realm.<\/p>\n

That is just another example of how quickly things can change in this league, and Lawton cited how quick things can change as an important reason the Hoops must remain focused on themselves and getting back to winning ways.<\/p>\n

With the Ghirls turning out at home one last time before the international break, the defender is also hopeful the fans can play their part.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith this league, you can\u2019t dwell on results,\u201d she said. \u201cIt changes so quickly. Obviously, we feel that disappointment, but we move into a new week and new opposition.<\/p>\n

“Partick Thistle have been a great side over the last couple of years.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, they\u2019ve got a new manager in, so it will be interesting to see if there will be any kind of changes to their set up.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know it\u2019s going to be a tough test. All of these teams are and it\u2019s just about making sure we are professional and we know what we need to do to win.<\/p>\n

‘It\u2019s important to focus on ourselves. We\u2019ve analysed them to see if there was any changes and stuff.’<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fans were great at Ibrox last week and I really hope they can come out at the weekend and support us going into the international break.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will be a big game for us, which we will hopefully take away the three points.”<\/p>\n
