\n\tHarry Potter<\/a> star Rupert Grint<\/a> has joined his friend Daniel Radcliffe<\/a> in passing on some wisdom to the cast of the new HBO<\/a> series. <\/p>\n

\n\tIn an interview with BBC News, Grint revealed that he had written to Alastair Stout, who is taking on the role of Ron Weasley<\/a> in the reimagining of J.K. Rowling\u2019s fantasy franchise.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI wrote him a letter, before they started, passing the baton as it were,\u201d he said. \u201cIt was really just wishing him all the best with it. I had so much fun stepping into this world, and I hope he has the same experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOf the HBO series, Grint said: \u201cIt\u2019s quite strange to have the cycle happening again \u2026 I\u2019m really intrigued what it\u2019s going to be like.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tGrint added that he sees \u201ca bit of family resemblance\u201d between himself and Stout. \u201cI think it\u2019s great that it\u2019s a whole new thing. It\u2019s going to be its own thing, and I think that will be fun,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\n\tRadcliffe said last week<\/a> that he had written some words for Dominic McLaughlin, who will play Harry Potter in the HBO series. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI just see these pictures of him and the other kids and I just want to hug them,\u201d Radcliffe continued. \u201cThey just seem so young. I just look at them and say, \u2018Oh it\u2019s crazy I was doing that at that age.\u2019 But it\u2019s also incredibly sweet, and I hope they\u2019re having a great time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tGrint said he would consider returning to the Potter universe in the future, but it was not a current priority. Tom Felton recently got a raucous welcome as he reprised his role as Draco Malfoy<\/a> for the first time in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway.<\/p>\n

\n\tFilming has been ongoing for months on the\u00a0Harry Potter\u00a0series, which will star\u00a0McLaughlin\u00a0as the titular Hogwarts wizard. Stout plays Harry\u2019s best friend Weasley, and Arabella Stanton rounds out the trio of heroes as bookworm Hermione Granger.<\/p>\n

\n\tOther cast includes Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, and Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall.
