{"id":154893,"date":"2025-11-27T02:01:05","date_gmt":"2025-11-27T02:01:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/154893\/"},"modified":"2025-11-27T02:01:05","modified_gmt":"2025-11-27T02:01:05","slug":"aid-access-and-hospital-operations-remain-constrained-in-gaza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/154893\/","title":{"rendered":"Aid access and hospital operations remain constrained in Gaza"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Briefing reporters in New York on Wednesday, UN Spokesperson St\u00e9phane Dujarric <a href=\"https:\/\/press.un.org\/en\/2025\/db251126.doc.htm\" data-entity-type=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">said<\/a> hostilities in parts of the Gaza Strip are still resulting in casualties and repeated disruptions to humanitarian operations.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, the UN and its partners coordinated eight planned humanitarian movements inside Gaza with Israeli authorities. Of those, only one movement was facilitated, while the remaining seven were impeded, denied or cancelled.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the challenges, UN teams managed to collect more than 200 pallets of medicine and five tankers of fuel from the Kerem Shalom\/Kerem Abu Salem crossing. Additional tents were also retrieved from the Kissufim crossing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery delivery into Gaza makes a significant difference,\u201d Mr. Dujarric said.<\/p>\n<p>Health system barely functioning<\/p>\n<p>The Spokesperson stressed that Gaza\u2019s health system remains in a state of extreme fragility.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot a single hospital in Gaza is fully functional,\u201d he said, noting that only 18 out of the Strip\u2019s 36 hospitals are currently partially operational.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, teams from the UN World Health Organization (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.who.int\/en\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">WHO<\/a>) facilitated the medical evacuation of 33 Palestinians in need of critical care, along with more than 100 companions. However, the scale of unmet medical need remains overwhelming.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are still more than 16,500 patients who need to receive medical care outside of Gaza,\u201d Mr. Dujarric said.<\/p>\n<p>WHO continues to call for safe access through all evacuation routes, particularly to the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and for medical evacuation convoys to be expedited at crossings.<\/p>\n<p>Maintaining education<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, UN agencies continue efforts to sustain essential civilian services.
