Shrek 5<\/a>\u201d as Shrek and Fiona\u2019s sons, Fergus and Farkle. Hern\u00e1ndez is best known for his work on \u201cSNL.\u201d He also appeared in \u201cHappy Gilmore 2\u201d and is set to star in the upcoming comedy, \u201c72 Hours.\u201d Gisondo played Jimmy Olsen in last summer\u2019s \u201cSuperman\u201d and also had supporting roles in \u201cLicorice Pizza\u201d and \u201cBooksmart.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\tUniversal Pictures will release DreamWorks Animation\u2019s \u201cShrek 5\u201d on June 30, 2027. The franchise\u2019s vocal cast of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz are set to reprise their roles as Shrek, Donkey and Fiona. Zendaya is also joining the ogre fun as Shrek and Fiona\u2019s daughter, Felicia. Rebooting \u201cShrek\u201d has been a priority for the studio and for Chris Meledandri, the head of Illumination and the man behind the \u201cDespicable Me\u201d and \u201cMinions\u201d franchise,\u201d as well as \u201cThe Super Mario Bros. Movie.\u201d <\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cShrek 5\u201d will be directed by Conrad Vernon and Walt Dohrn. Vernon\u2019s directing credits include \u201cShrek 2\u201d and \u201cMadagascar 2\u201d and is the voice of Gingerbread Man (aka Gingy). Dohrn worked on the second and third \u201cShrek\u201d films as a writer and artist and as head of story on the fourth film. Dohrn also voiced the character of Rumpelstilskin.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe film will be produced by Gina Shay, who produced \u201cShrek Forever After,\u201d and by Meledandri. \u201cShrek 5\u201d will be co-directed by Brad Ableson (\u201cMinions: The Rise of Gru\u201d).<\/p>\n
The four \u201cShrek\u201d films have earned more than $2.9 billion worldwide, as well as inspired a Broadway musical, an immersive tourist destination in London, a spin-off series involving Puss in Boots, as well as events and attractions across Universal Studios parks.<\/p>\n
