Ariana Grande<\/a> has spoken out about the public discourse around her body\u2014reminding followers of the statement she made last year. <\/p>\n

With the rollout of Wicked: For Good<\/a>, it has truly felt like Grande and Cynthia Erivo<\/a> have been everywhere\u2026 physically and figuratively. While the global press tour<\/a> took the cast to S\u00e3o Paulo, Paris, London, Singapore, and, ultimately, to New York, the premiere photos and video clips found their way into countless additional cities, on screens and in the minds of millions. And not all of the discussion surrounding the film was constructive.<\/p>\n

Taking to Instagram, Grande addressed some of the unwanted attention she has faced with the film\u2019s release\u2014attention not on the project itself, but on her body. Posting a clip from an interview last year, conducted during the first Wicked press tour, the actress let her followers know she\u2019s seen the comments\u2014and wants them to stop. \u201cResharing this from last year,\u201d she captioned it. \u201cAs a loving reminder to all.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the video, Grande opened up about growing up under a public microscope: \u201cI\u2019ve been kind of doing this in front of the public, and kind of been a specimen in a petri-dish since I was 16 or 17. So I have heard it all. I\u2019ve heard every version of it, of what\u2019s wrong with me. And then you fix it, and then it\u2019s wrong for different reasons.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI just don\u2019t invite it in anymore, it\u2019s not welcome,\u201d she continued. \u201cI have work to do, I have a life to live, I have friends to love on, I have so much love and it\u2019s not invited. So I don\u2019t leave space for it anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n
