{"id":162703,"date":"2025-12-01T17:38:10","date_gmt":"2025-12-01T17:38:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/162703\/"},"modified":"2025-12-01T17:38:10","modified_gmt":"2025-12-01T17:38:10","slug":"southampton-mental-health-network-launches-power-of-hello","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/162703\/","title":{"rendered":"Southampton Mental Health Network launches Power of Hello"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  The Southampton Mental Health Network, supported by Southampton City Council and the NHS, is asking people and businesses to take part in the \u2018Power of Hello\u2019 campaign.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The campaign, which starts in December, is part of the lead-up to the city\u2019s Mental Health Friendly Day on July 8, 2026.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  READ MORE: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyecho.co.uk\/news\/25646262.housebuilder-launches-new-partnership-support-workers-mental-health\/?ref=ial\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Housebuilder launches new partnership to support workers&#8217; mental health<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\"\/>The campaign, is part of the lead-up to the city\u2019s Mental Health Friendly Da (Image: Southampton Mental Health Network)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Chloe Naegeli, the Southampton Mental Health Network coordinator, said: &#8220;Building on actions from the Southampton Mental Health and Wellbeing Action Strategy and our ethos to make Southampton a mental health friendly city, we\u2019re launching our &#8216;Power of Hello&#8217; campaign in December to build to Southampton Mental Health Friendly Day in 2026.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;It will culminate on July 8 with social gatherings in all corners of the city, at a grassroots level, with an emphasis on meeting and greeting each other.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The &#8216;Power of Hello&#8217; campaign aims to connect people, reduce isolation, and strengthen community ties.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Ms Naegeli added: &#8220;We would like as many businesses, organisations, charities, companies and individuals as possible to get involved \u2013 even if just in a small way by saying \u2018hello\u2019 to someone in the street or making eye contact and sharing a smile on a bus journey.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The campaign launch coincides with the 200-day countdown to Southampton Mental Health Friendly Day 2026 on December 20.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The campaign will feature in events and initiatives over the 200 days, giving 200 reasons to say hello to someone.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Charities, businesses, educational establishments, and individuals are invited to join the countdown to Southampton Mental Health Friendly Day 2026 by supporting the &#8216;Power of Hello&#8217; campaign.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  READ MORE: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyecho.co.uk\/news\/25639595.new-group-launched-help-shape-future-mental-health-services\/?ref=ial\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">New group launched to help shape future mental health services<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Ms Naegeli said: &#8220;We\u2019re hoping everyone gets behind it \u2013 whether in a big or small way \u2013 to help raise awareness of our ultimate goal to make Southampton a mental health friendly city, which is good for everyone.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Southampton Mental Health Network is asking neighbourhood groups or organisations that host regular sociable events like coffee mornings, lunches, and teatime events to contact them, to help promote these events and foster connection and confidence.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Ms Naegeli concluded: &#8220;We\u2019re better together.
