\n\tGeorge Clooney<\/a> told The Sunday Times<\/a> that he\u2019s still upset about losing the role of J.D. in Ridley Scott\u2019s 1991 film \u201cThelma & Louise\u201d to longtime friend and collaborator Brad Pitt<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI got to the final test for a role in \u2018Thelma & Louise.\u2019 And, motherfucker, Brad got it,\u201d Clooney said. \u201cI didn\u2019t watch \u2018Thelma & Louise\u2019 for years, because I was annoyed. The part launched his career in film. He was doing sitcoms and crap before, so when it was the thing that could\u2019ve launched me? Fuck!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the film, J.D. is a rugged vagabond who sparks a fleeting romance with Thelma (Geena Davis). As noted by Clooney, the film cemented Pitt as a bankable movie star. In the years following, Pitt led films like \u201cA River Runs Through It,\u201d \u201cInterview with the Vampire,\u201d \u201cSe7en\u201d and \u201c12 Monkeys.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe \u201cJay Kelly\u201d star added that Pitt still taunts him about winning the \u201cThelma and Louise\u201d role.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOh yeah, he still gives me shit,\u201d he said. \u201cBut, of course, when I saw it, I was, like, well, it had to be that guy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tClooney had to wait a few years after the release of \u201cThelma & Louise\u201d to get his movie star break. He became a household name playing Dr. Doug Ross on \u201cER\u201d from 1994 to 1999.
