Slipknot<\/a> percussionist Clown has said the band hopes to release their long-delayed \u201clost\u201d album \u2018Look Outside Your Window\u2019 next year.<\/p>\n

The album was recorded by Clown (real name is Shaun Crahan), Corey Taylor<\/a>, Sid Wilson and Jim Root at the same time as they were working on 2008\u2019s \u2018All Hope Is Gone\u2019. To date, only one track from the sessions has been released \u2013 the \u2018All Hope Is Gone\u2019 bonus track \u2018Til We Die\u2019, which often plays over the PA at the end of their shows.<\/p>\n

They have teased the eventual release of the album since 2019, when\u00a0Crahan said that the band were readying the release<\/a>, and\u00a0Corey Taylor later added that he \u201ctried like hell to make those worlds come together\u201d<\/a> to complete the project. Meanwhile, Root has mentioned that he has threatened to leak it on multiple occasions<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When speaking to NME\u00a0in 2020<\/a>, Crahan revealed the band almost dropped it over Christmas 2019 but ultimately decided against it because they didn\u2019t want it to interfere with sixth studio album \u2018We Are Not Your Kind<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n

Crahan in particular has given estimates of its release date that have not yet materialised.\u00a0 Indeed, he told NME late last year<\/a> that \u2018Look Outside Your Window\u2019 would finally see the light of day in 2025, confirming that he\u2019d shown Taylor the final artwork and the album was now in the hands of their management.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m really pleased about it and happy to finally be rid of it,\u201d he said. What\u2019s nice though is that it isn\u2019t a hype thing, it\u2019s just something we did while we were doing other Slipknot albums. It was a very honest action to make music that wasn\u2019t Slipknot, but utilised the skills of guys with no rules.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know if it\u2019s \u2018good\u2019, but I know that I love it. I make music for myself, but I hope that the people who waited and waited and waited think it was worth it too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, Crahan has offered another update on the album. In a Discord Q&A yesterday (December 3), he said (via Kerrang!<\/a>): \u201cI know I told everyone it would be this year. I\u2019m very sorry it hasn\u2019t been. Things come to play that change things all the time with the art we create. I want you to know 2026 is the year. It\u2019s just simply time and I\u2019m just getting tired of waiting myself. Have faith. I promise.\u201d<\/p>\n

Both Crahan and Taylor have said that \u2018Look Outside Your Window\u2019 doesn\u2019t sound like a usual Slipknot record. \u201cIt was never a Slipknot album. Not while it was happening, not while I\u2019ve held onto it for 10 years, and certainly not fuckin\u2019 when it comes out,\u201d Crahan told\u00a0Knotfest<\/a> in early 2025, stating that its sound is \u201cnot even close\u201d to Slipknot\u2019s.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

Crahan had previously said it sounded \u201cexperimental, psychedelic\u201d and Taylor noted in 2019 that they\u2019re \u201csuper vibey, super melodic\u201d and \u201cvery solemn, very energetic, very artistic\u201d, going as far as to compare the songs to Radiohead<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Taylor has also admitted that the constant delays have partly been his fault. When asked about the record in an interview with NME<\/a>, he replied: \u201cIt\u2019s actually funny that you bring that up. I was talking to Clown about it the other day and he goes, \u2018One of the reasons it hasn\u2019t come out is because you keep putting shit out which keeps conflicting with when I want to release it!\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cI was like, \u2018Fuck dude, why didn\u2019t you tell me?\u2019 He says, \u2018Fuck, Taylor \u2013 you just got too much shit!\u2019 It\u2019s sounding like he\u2019s got a release date that he can finally lock in and I have promised him that I won\u2019t release anything that will ruin that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Slipknot are also working on new music<\/a>, according to their recently recruited drummer Eloy Casagrande.<\/p>\n

Speaking to\u00a0Drummer\u2019s Review, he said: \u201cWe are cooking, we are doing some new music, for sure\u201d. While he didn\u2019t give any specific details, he added: \u201cSince I joined the band, we have been working on some new ideas. We keep exchanging guitar riffs, drum beats, so we are always doing something. We had also some jam sessions.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, we have a lot of material right now. We just have to sit and put everything together, start jamming, and it\u2019s happening. It already happened. It\u2019s gonna happen in the future.
