The\u00a0Reserve Bank’s monetary policy board is\u00a0forecast to keep the official cash rate unchanged at 3.6%\u00a0later this afternoon.<\/p>\n

Adelaide Miller here with you to kick off the markets and finance blog.<\/p>\n
I’ll start off with market movements overnight as we all patiently wait to see what the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) will do with interest rates.<\/p>\n
But in short, the ASX 200 is set to open lower when the markets open in a few hours, and the RBA is expected to keep rates on hold today.<\/p>\n
Speaking of rates, we are also only a few days away from hearing from the US Federal Reserve will do with interest rates in the states, although a 25 percentage point cut is expected.<\/p>\n
