President Xi responded positively!\u201d Trump posted on Truth Social on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The president said \u201c$25% will be paid to the United States of America\u201d without giving details of the arrangement. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/nvidia\" title=\"\" data-trackable=\"link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nvidia<\/a> previously agreed to pay the US a cut of its revenue from chips sales to China, but the deal was not finalised.<\/p>\n<p>Nvidia\u2019s sales of advanced chips used for artificial intelligence to Chinese customers have halted this year, caught between US export restrictions and a backlash from Beijing against the use of American technology.<\/p>\n<p>Trump said the \u201csame approach\u201d to allowing chip exports would apply to rivals such as AMD and Intel. <\/p>\n<p>Nvidia\u2019s H200 chip is far more powerful than the H20 chip that was made specifically for export to China but belongs to the previous generation of its technology since replaced by its latest Blackwell chips.<\/p>\n<p>Nvidia shares rose 1.73 per cent on Monday after Semafor first reported the administration\u2019s decision.
