\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tJakarta (ANTARA) – Housing Minister Maruarar Sirait revealed that the construction of 2,000 homes for Sumatra disaster survivors in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra will be funded through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have received commitments from several CSR partners to help build 2,000 houses for our brothers and sisters affected in Sumatra,\u201d said Maruarar, also known as Ara, in Jakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that the CSR support for the construction of 2,000 homes reflects the Indonesian spirit of gotong royong (collective solidarity).<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a form of collective solidarity. I have secured commitments for 2,000 houses to be provided for our brothers and sisters affected by the disaster in Sumatra,\u201d said Ara.<\/p>\n
Indonesia\u2019s Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Nusron Wahid stated the ministry is ready to coordinate with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) to secure land for disaster survivors in Sumatra.<\/p>\n
He added that providing land for housing would not be a problem, though no site surveys have been conducted yet for the temporary or permanent housing plans.<\/p>\n
President Prabowo Subianto previously ordered the temporary revocation of HGU permits near relocation areas to facilitate the construction of emergency housing for flood survivors.<\/p>\n
Prabowo stressed that the government must quickly secure land to build temporary shelters (huntara) for affected residents in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.<\/p>\n
