Two of Avatar Studios<\/a>‘ top executives have just teased some major insights to come with the release of Avatar: Seven Havens.<\/p>\n

Speaking to franchise stars Dante Basco and Janet Varney on the latest episode of the Avatar: Braving the Elements podcast<\/a>, Avatar Studios Creative Executive Isabella Beottcher and Executive Story Editor Joan Hilty touched on what franchise trend fans can expect to see continue in Avatar: Seven Havens.<\/p>\n

Avatar: Seven Havens Will Continue a Major Series Trend, According to Studio Execs<\/p>\n

Specifically, the pair promised that Seven Havens would offer further insights into the eras of past Avatars prior to the likes of Aang, Korra and Pavi. “It’s so good, and so beautiful,” Beottcher said of the series. “And much like, you know, the eras just sort of like inform each other in the novels… Aang discovers, you know, in his era stuff about Kyoshi… Seven Havens is gonna do the same thing,” Hilty added. “Seven Havens is going to give us insight into previous eras.”<\/p>\n

Currently slated to premiere in 2027, Avatar: Seven Havens is the long-awaited third animated series in the Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise. The series will introduce Korra’s successor as the Avatar, Pavi, a young Earthbender who learns of her place in the world during a particularly harrowing era.<\/p>\n

Following the explosive finale of The Legend of Korra Book 2, the series’ leading character made the decision to leave open the portals that connect the mortal and Spirit World<\/a>. While this was clearly done out of a sense of duty and hope for a better future, the results of this decision seemingly haven’t played out well four decades later, during the time of Avatar Pavi.<\/p>\n

The official logline for <\/a>Avatar: Seven Havens<\/a> reads, “A young Earthbender discovers she\u2019s the new Avatar after Korra \u2013 but in this dangerous era, that title marks her as humanity\u2019s destroyer, not its savior. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens before civilization\u2019s last strongholds collapse.”<\/p>\n

Following the initial announcement of Avatar: Seven Havens, Konietzko and DiMartino released a statement for fans, reading, “When we created the original series, we never imagined we’d still be expanding the world decades later. This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and a whole new cast of amazing characters. Get ready to take another epic and emotional adventure!”<\/p>\n

Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 & The Legend of Aang Movie Both Arrive in 2026<\/p>\n

However, before Seven Havens arrives, fans of the franchise have multiple new releases to look forward to. Audiences recently got their first look at Season 2 of Netflix’s live-action <\/a>Avatar: The Last Airbender<\/a> series, which will mark the debut of Miya Cech as fan-favorite Earthbending prodigy Toph Beifong. Season 2 is currently slated to arrive on Netflix sometime in 2026.<\/p>\n

Also coming in 2026 is the first animated feature film in its franchise history: The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender. Set to arrive in theaters on Oct. 9, 2026, The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender will follow the original series’ core cast of characters in their young adult years. Rather than the classic voice cast, The Legend of Aang will star Eric Nam as Aang, Dionne Quan as Toph Beifong, Jessica Matten as Katara and Rom\u00e1n Zaragoza as Sokka.<\/p>\n

Casting director Jenny Jue previously opened up about the decision to recast key roles for The Legend of Aang<\/a>, explaining that “Since the original show was released, there\u2019s been more emphasis in VO to match actors\u2019 ethnic\/racial background to the characters they\u2019re portraying. ATLA is a fictional world, but there are cultural influences for each nation\/kingdom, and we wanted to explore the talent from those groups.”<\/p>\n
