It sounds like things are going to get even scarier for the kids in Hawkins, Indiana, when Stranger Things<\/a> Season 5, Volume 2 debuts on Christmas Day<\/a>. The second Stranger Things Season 5 release brings three new episodes of the show’s final outing. Stranger Things co-creator Ross Duffer has offered teases for each of the episodes, and some of them don’t sound so great for the characters.<\/p>\n

Stranger Things Season 5 debuted in November with its first four episodes. Stranger Things Season 5, Volume 2 will bring episodes five through seven.<\/p>\n

Episode 5 is titled “Chapter Five: Shock Jock” and brings back Frank Darabont, who directed episode three of the season, “Chapter Three: The Turnbow Trap,” as well. Of the episode, Duffer says, \u201cFrank Darabont is back, but he flexes very different muscles on this one than he did on \u2018Turnbow Trap\u2019. It’s far darker, and far scarier.\u201d That… sounds like bad news for the party.<\/p>\n

Episode 6 is titled “Chapter Six: Escape from Camazotz,” and sees Shawn Levy, who has gone on to direct several feature films since working on earlier seasons of Stranger Things<\/a>, handling what could be one of Stranger Things’ most epic episodes ever. \u201cDirected by Shawn Levy. It’s the biggest episode of the 3 \u2014 and the performances make us cry every time we watch it,” Duffer teased. Again, that doesn’t sound good for the kids<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Finally, Episode 7, the penultimate episode of the series, is titled “Chapter Seven: The Bridge.” Of this episode, Duffers teases that, \u201cAside from the finale, it’s probably the most emotional chapter of the season.\u201d Given what’s already transpired, that’s saying something.<\/p>\n

Stranger Things Is Nearing the End<\/p>\n

While these new episodic teases sound like they could be hinting at some heartbreaking moments, Stranger Things fans can’t say they weren’t warned. Stranger Things <\/a>star Noah Schnapp<\/a> did hint ahead of the new season that the final Stranger Things arc was an emotional ride, even for the actors.<\/p>\n

“Obviously, it hit all of us on the last day. But even before then, I was writing notes for everyone to say goodbye, thank you letters, just writing through all the memories that I’ve had with everyone,” Schnapp said. “It really helped me understand how impactful all these people have been on my own personal journey of growing, and saying goodbye to that and leaving it behind was definitely hard.”<\/p>\n

That covers episodes 5, 6, and 7 of Stranger Things Season 5. The final episode of the season, and of the show, titled “Chapter Eight: The Rightside Up,” is the length of a feature-length film and is being treated as such, releasing into theaters<\/a>, as well as on Netflix, for a limited engagement on New Year’s Eve, and continuing through New Year’s Day. <\/p>\n

Stranger Things began dominating the Netflix streaming charts (again) even before Season 5 released. As the new season drew near, all four previous Stranger Things seasons returned to Netflix’s Top 10 list<\/a>. That’s a first for any show that the streaming platform has produced, and all five seasons have remained on the chart since Stranger Things Season 5 debuted.<\/p>\n

Even so, not everyone loved the first four episodes of Stranger Things’ final season as much as they did the show’s past seasons. Stranger Things Season 5 has the show’s lowest Rotten Tomatoes score ever<\/a>, but 84% is still a strong showing. Perhaps Stranger Things Season 5, Volume 2, will elevate that score.<\/p>\n
