A nasal spray that was distributed across the United States has been recalled due to its potential to cause “life-threatening infections.”\n<\/p>\n
MediNatura New Mexico Inc. has recalled its ReBoost Nasal Spray, as the homeopathic product \u201chas been found to contain yeast\/mold and microbial contamination with one species identified as [bacteria] Achromobacter, at levels above specifications,\u201d the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced on Tuesday, Dec. 10.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is a reasonable probability that adverse health consequences, including life-threatening infections, will occur with use of the product in the immunocompromised population,\u201d the FDA said in a memo<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n “Symptoms may include fever, swollen sinuses, headaches, face pain or pressure and facial numbness,” the Hawaii State Department of Health<\/a>, which also announced the recall, stated.\n<\/p>\n The department advised consumers to “contact their physician or healthcare provider if they have experienced any problems that may be related to taking or using this product.”\n<\/p>\n ReBoost nasal spray.<\/p>\n State of Hawaii, Department of Health<\/p>\n
