DC Studios has a lot of irons in the fire right now, and keeping up with all of them can be a bit of a chore. This is our monthly update post to help you keep track of everything that is currently going on.<\/p>\n
DC Movie Updates<\/p>\n
The Authority \u2013 James Gunn has indicated the film is not moving forward<\/a> at this time.<\/p>\n The Batman 2 -Matt Reeves and Mattson Tomlin have turned in the script<\/a>. Production is set to begin in April 2026<\/a> and release on Oct. 1, 2027.<\/p>\n Brave and the Bold \u2013 Film will be based on Grant Morrison\u2019s run on Batman. A scriptwriter has been picked, but they are not ready to reveal who it is yet.<\/p>\n Clayface \u2013 Tom Rhys Harries was cast<\/a> as Clayface in June. James Watkins (The Woman in Black) is directing from a script by Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House). The Release date is set for Sept. 11, 2026. Filming began in the U.K. on Aug. 31<\/a>.<\/p>\n Dynamic Duo \u2013 DC Studios and Warner Bros Pictures Animation are working with Swaybox on a film that will follow the early days of Dick Grayson and Jason Todd. The 6th & Idaho movie is scripted by Matthew Aldrich.<\/p>\n Man of Tomorrow \u2013 Superman follow-up film was announced by James Gunn on Sept. 3<\/a>. Release is set for July 9, 2027.<\/p>\n Sgt. Rock \u2013 Colin Farrell is still rumored to be up for the title role<\/a>, but production has been delayed from Summer 2025 to Summer 2026<\/a>. There is no current release date.<\/p>\n Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow \u2013 Filming has wrapped<\/a> on the new film as of early May. The film maintains a release date of June 26, 2026. Shortly after the release of Superman, a teaser poster<\/a> was released.<\/p>\n Superman \u2013 Now available for digital purchase and on physical media. No announcement as of publication of when it will arrive on HBO Max.<\/p>\n Swamp Thing \u2013 As of the latest update<\/a>, DC Studios said, \u201cThe ball is really in [James Mangold\u2019s] court.\u201d<\/p>\n Teen Titans \u2013 Ana Nogueira is assigned to this project, but was asked to move over to Wonder Woman by James Gunn and to make it a priority.<\/p>\n Wonder Woman \u2013 Ana Nogueira is working on the script<\/a>.<\/p>\n DC TV Updates<\/p>\n Blue Beetle Animated Series \u2013 In development and Angel Manuel Soto & Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer are preparing for a final pitch.<\/p>\n Booster Gold \u2013 Original showrunner left the project, and development is continuing under David Jenkins<\/a>.<\/p>\n Lanterns \u2013 Series has wrapped filmingand will premiere in early 2026. The cast has grown considerably with six major roles announced: Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan<\/a>, Aaron Pierre as John Stewart<\/a>, Ulrich Thomsen as Sinestro<\/a>, Kelly Macdonald as Sheriff Kerry<\/a>, Garret Dillahunt as William Macon, and Poorna Jagannathan as Zoe<\/a> among numerous smaller roles. Nathan Fillion is confirmed to appear as Guy Gardner.<\/p>\n Mister Miracle \u2013 Animated series in the works<\/a> with Tom King serving as the showrunner.<\/p>\n My Adventures With Green Lantern \u2013 My Adventures with Green Lantern will follow Jessica Cruz, a high school student who has a Green Lantern ring drop into her life. Jake Wyatt and Stephanie Gonzaga will serve as executive producers.<\/p>\n Paradise Lost \u2013 Series set on Themyscira is still in development. James Gunn has said development is \u201cslow moving, but it\u2019s moving.\u201d<\/p>\n Peacemaker \u2013 Season 2 debuted on Aug. 21, 2025 and is continuing to air.<\/p>\n Starfire \u2013 Starfire will follow the famous Teen Titan in the first days after she leaves Tamaran and ventures across space. There she will meet up with a space biker named Crush, a plant lover named Fern, Princess Amethyst of Gemworld. Josie Campbell and Brianne Drouhard will serve as executive producers on the series.<\/p>\n Super Powers \u2013 Super Powers will be set at the Alliance School for Heroes and will focus on the new students: Aquagirl, Flash, Green Lantern, Lightning, Plastic Man, and Terra as they learn everything they need to know from Principal Martian Manhunter.
