Australian actress Rachael Carpani, who had a breakout role in \u201cMcLeod\u2019s Daughters\u201d as Jodi Fountain and had recently worked on \u201cHome And Away,\u201d has died. <\/p>\n
The \u201cNCIS: Los Angeles<\/a>\u201d star was 45. <\/p>\n Carpani\u2019s family turned to Instagram<\/a> to confirm the unfortunate news on Monday, revealing that the actress had been suffering from a chronic illness. <\/p>\n Sadly, she passed \u201cunexpectedly\u201d on Dec. 7 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. <\/p>\n \u201cIt is with great sadness that Tony and Gael Carpani announce that their beautiful daughter, beloved Australian actress Rachael Carpani, unexpectedly but peacefully passed away after a long battle with chronic illness, in the early hours of Sunday 7th December,\u201d the statement<\/a> said.<\/p>\n Her family also requested privacy at this difficult time. <\/p>\n A private funeral will be held on Dec. 19 and will be attended by only close family and friends. <\/p>\n As of right now, a cause of death or a specific diagnosis of the chronic illness has not been made public. <\/p>\n But there could be a connection regarding the actress\u2019 health challenges, though.<\/p>\n Back in 2021, Carpani mentioned that she had to be transported to the hospital due to abdominal pain and needed surgery for a hidden illness, according to Deadline<\/a>.<\/p>\n When it comes to the star\u2019s recent work, Carpani had a recurring role in the long-running soap \u201cHome And Away.\u201d She was also in \u201cNCIS: Los Angeles,\u201d A&E network\u2019s \u201cThe Glades<\/a>,\u201d and the Ben Afleck\u2019s basketball movie, \u201cThe Way Back<\/a>.\u201d <\/p>\n
