I don\u2019t hide my love for the Motorola Razr Ultra. It\u2019s a fantastic device that I enjoy carrying around in my pocket. However, that doesn\u2019t mean I can\u2019t appreciate the changes Samsung made to the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The phone desperately needed a visual overhaul, and we finally got the cover screen we deserved from Samsung, along with some fun colorways. It\u2019s a capable device, especially if you score one at a discount. <\/p>\n

Thankfully, AT&T has you covered, as you can pick up a Galaxy Z Flip 7<\/a> for free. Yes, conditions apply, and you\u2019ll need to have an eligible trade-in and stick with the company for 36 months to get all the bill credits. However, if you were already thinking of trading in your old device, this is an outstanding opportunity to save on a cool smartphone. <\/p>\n

Why I\u2019d buy the Galaxy Z Flip 7<\/p>\n

The Galaxy Z Flip 7’s updated styling is well done. I\u2019m not usually someone who cares about bezels, but Samsung\u2019s done an excellent job making them noticeably thinner on the expanded 4.1-inch cover screen. I still wish Samsung would improve the software experience for the outer display, but I\u2019m thankful it\u2019s a larger panel this year. <\/p>\n

I don\u2019t mind that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 uses an Exynos 2500 chipset, as I\u2019ve had no problems. Performance is smooth, and I can play all the top games I want, and multitasking isn\u2019t an issue. 12GB of RAM is more than enough, and the device isn\u2019t prone to overheating. I know some critics were disappointed when the device didn\u2019t include a Snapdragon 8 Elite, but I haven\u2019t felt limited at all. <\/p>\n

Software is where Samsung pulls ahead of Motorola and the Razr Ultra<\/a>. The company promises seven years of software support. One UI 8 runs smoothly, and Samsung has done an excellent job optimizing new software releases for older hardware, so I expect the Galaxy Z Flip 7 to age gracefully. <\/p>\n

The battery life is solid thanks to its 4,300 mAh cell, and I don\u2019t have many complaints about the phone\u2019s dual camera setup. It\u2019s a noticeable step-down from Samsung\u2019s typical flagship camera photos, but it wouldn\u2019t stop me from buying the device. If you\u2019ve been meaning to try out a flip phone, here\u2019s a way to get one without adding to your monthly bill.<\/p>\n
