OpenAI CEO Sam Altman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2023\/11\/7\/23951673\/openai-chatgpt-store-ai-devday\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">said last month<\/a> that \u201cWe are planning to build the obvious features that you would expect for a robust platform over time,\u201d and opening an app store is certainly a huge step in that direction.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">Another change is that OpenAI has renamed the \u201cconnectors\u201d that helped users pull data from other services (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/679580\/chatgpt-google-drive-dropbox-meeting-notes\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">like Google Drive or Dropbox<\/a>) into ChatGPT, and is now calling those apps too. As a <a href=\"https:\/\/help.openai.com\/en\/articles\/11487775-apps-in-chatgpt\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">support page<\/a> explains, chat connectors are now \u201capps with file search,\u201d deep research connectors are now \u201capps with deep research,\u201d and synced connectors are now \u201capps with sync.\u201d It also mentions that apps may use information from Memory, if it\u2019s enabled, and for Free, Plus, Go, and Pro ChatGPT users, OpenAI may use information to train its models if the user has \u201cimprove the model for everyone\u201d enabled.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">For something more interactive, however, you\u2019d look for ChatGPT apps like the ones that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/640086\/openai-chat-gpt-news-updates\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">launched in October<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/793081\/chagpt-apps-sdk-spotify-zillow-openai\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">for Spotify, Zillow, and other services<\/a>, some of which are now available in more markets, like Spotify in ChatGPT, which now works \u201cin the UK, Switzerland, and throughout the EU.\u201d New additions include an Apple Music app, which can help all users find music or make playlists and manage subscribers\u2019 music libraries from within the chatbot, and DoorDash, which can turn \u201crecipe inspiration, meal planning, and weekly staples into an actionable shopping cart\u201d in the same window.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">The answer to how all this helps OpenAI <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/841540\/openai-slack-ceo-denise-dresser-chief-revenue-officer\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">turn its AI business into something profitable<\/a> is one thing it hasn\u2019t explained yet.
