There is little debate about his place in the game. Salah is one of Africa\u2019s greatest exports and, for many, the finest footballer Egypt has ever produced. Yet in a country where the Africa Cup of Nations is sacred, and where Egypt sit alone as record seven-time champions,\u00a0greatness is still measured in medals.<\/p>\n
The scrutiny around Salah\u2019s legacy isn\u2019t born of indifference or doubt. If anything, it exists because of how close he has come. He has played in two AFCON finals, in 2017 and 2022, and walked away empty-handed both times. Few players have carried hope so far, so often.<\/p>\n
Now in Morocco, Salah returns with unfinished business.
