\nthe U.S. Senate\u2019s confirmation of Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun as Special Envoy to
\nMonitor and Combat Antisemitism, with the rank of ambassador. World Jewish
\nCongress President Ronald S. Lauder said:<\/p>\n
\u201cPresident Trump made a strong
\nchoice in nominating Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun to serve as U.S. State Department
\nSpecial Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism. I am deeply grateful to the
\nPresident for ensuring this critical position is filled by a dedicated fighter
\nagainst anti-Jewish hatred. <\/p>\n
\u201cAs we saw this week in Sydney,
\nantisemitism is global, coordinated, and emboldened, and it demands leadership
\nthat understands the stakes and the responsibility of this role. The WJC serves
\nJewish communities in more than one hundred countries, and I look forward to
\nengaging with Rabbi Kaploun as he works to protect them from the grave threats
\nthey face today. I am also pleased that he will be joining the Special Envoys
\n& Coordinators Combating Antisemitism (SECCA) forum, first organized by the
\nWorld Jewish Congress in 2019, which remains the most important international
\nnetwork of government officials dedicated to confronting antisemitism.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have known Rabbi Kaploun for
\nmore than twenty years, and I have long respected the seriousness and judgment
\nhe brings to this fight. President Trump recognized the urgency of this moment
\nin moving quickly to nominate him, and that decision mattered. Even before his
\nconfirmation, Rabbi Kaploun was already at work in his private capacity. He
\njoined me at the WJC\u2019s Special Envoys meeting in November to engage directly
\nwith the dozens of special envoys and national coordinators gathered at the
\nState Department and begin building the relationships this role demands. <\/p>\n
\u201cHe has been clear about the need
\nto elevate the Special Envoy\u2019s office and to establish a dedicated unit focused
\non confronting online hate, and that level of preparation reflects the urgency
\nand resolve he will bring to combating antisemitism from day one.\u201d<\/p>\n
Rabbi Kaploun\u2019s confirmation
\nfollows close recent engagement with the World Jewish Congress, including his
\nparticipation in the international meeting of Special Envoys and Coordinators
\nCombating Antisemitism (SECCA) convened by the WJC and hosted by the United
\nStates Department of State in early November.\u201d<\/p>\n
The World Jewish Congress also thanks the professional staff
\nof the Office of the Special Envoy and their colleagues at the State
\nDepartment, under Secretary Rubio\u2019s steady leadership, for their tireless work
\nand clear support for the office and its mission during the interim period.<\/p>\n
The WJC regularly convenes the forum of Special Envoys
\n& Coordinators Combating Antisemitism (SECCA) comprising officials tasked
\nwith combating antisemitism on behalf of national government and international
