The lawsuit claimed that Cash App sent <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/m.economictimes.com\/topic\/unwanted-text-messages\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">unwanted text messages<\/a> through its \u201cInvite Friends\u201d feature, which gave users a $5 referral bonus. <\/p>\n<p>The old laws of Commercial Electronic Mail Act (CEMA) and Washington Consumer Protection Act (CPA), all part of Washington state laws, were being upended by the referral program, report by The Mirror said. Upto $7,500 can be earned by users in a similar class action suit AT&amp;T, with the last day to file being Dec 18. <\/p>\n<p>Who is eligible?A cash app referral message will be received by the beneficiaries of the scheme between Nov. 14, 2019, and Aug. 7, 2025, with the one claiming the money required to show the phone number that received the message and confirm they did not give consent. People who agreed to receive messages are not eligible. <br \/>The deadline to file a claim was Oct. 27, but U.S. District Judge John Chun approved the settlement on Dec. 2<\/p>\n<p>Block\u2019s statement, \u201cBlock denies any wrongdoing and claims it has abided by all state and federal laws, and that the Lawsuit is not well grounded in law or fact.\u201d \u201cAs part of the proposed settlement, Block does not admit to any wrongdoing, maintains its compliance with the law, and continues to deny the allegations against it\u201d, as stated in the report by The Mirror.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"ET logo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/118783427.cms.png\" width=\"90%\"\/>Live Events<br \/>Settlement amount<a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/m.economictimes.com\/topic\/eligible-users\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Eligible users<\/a> can get between $88 and $147.
