On December 19, 2025, Sunny Deol shared the trailer of his late father Dharmendra’s swan song Ikkis on Instagram, captioning it touchingly as “Love you papa \/ Witness the true story of the youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee, a hero who was only 21 and became eternal – Second Lt. Arun Khetarpal. #Ikkis In cinemas on 1st Jan 2026 (sic).”\u200b<\/p>\n

Dharmendra’s fans flooded the comments with emotional responses, with one netizen writing, “One and only Dharam sir \/ love you forever Miss you always (sic).” Another commented, “Blockbuster. Wish your dad was here. He\u2019s watching in heaven (sic),” while a third said, “Sir rula diya aapne (sic),” reflecting the profound impact of the veteran actor’s passing in November 2025.\u200b<\/p>\n

Originally set for December 25, 2025, Ikkis has been postponed to January 1, 2026. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the war drama chronicles the heroic life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, who earned India’s highest military honour for his bravery in the 1971 Indo-Pak war at age 21. The final trailer, unveiled by Maddock Films, glimpses the soldier’s fearlessness and ultimate sacrifice, described as “a true story of unmatched courage.” Produced by Dinesh Vijan with co-producers Sharada Karki Jalota, Poonam Shivdasani, and Binny Padda, the screenplay is by Raghavan, Arijit Biswas, and Pooja Ladha Surti.\u200b<\/p>\n

Ikkis stars Agastya Nanda, Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, in the lead as his big-screen debut following Netflix’s The Archies, alongside Dharmendra in a key role, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Simar Bhatia, Akshay Kumar’s niece, making her acting debut as the female lead.\u200b<\/p>\n
