When Lily Collins and Ashley Park met while filming “Emily in Paris,” they may not have predicted their onscreen friendship would transform into a lasting bond in real life. <\/p>\n

Now, the co-stars call themselves best friends and Park even played a special role at Collins’ wedding to Charlie McDowell in 2021. <\/p>\n

\u201cAshley sang at our wedding,\u201d Collins told TODAY lifestyle contributor Jill Martin during an interview in Venice<\/a> while promoting Season 5 of their hit Netflix series.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was for a really meaningful part of the ceremony, and that was probably the most nervous and honored I\u2019ve ever been,\u201d Park, who is also a Tony-nominated performer, told TODAY.com in a separate interview.<\/p>\n

\u201cHer voice was absolutely stunning,\u201d Collins added.<\/p>\n

Park, who plays Mindy Chen<\/a> in “Emily in Paris,” first met her co-star turned bestie when Collins had recently started dating her now-husband. <\/p>\n

“I saw her get engaged, then she got married, and now she\u2019s a mom<\/a>. So for me, I can\u2019t believe we get to do this. And yes, we\u2019re in Venice, but it\u2019s really cool to do with your best friend,” she told Martin.<\/p>\n

Collins feels the same way and said she developed a strong connection with Park immediately after meeting her.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a magnetic experience right away \u2014 like soul sistership right off the bat,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

For Collins, getting to share in the success of “Emily in Paris” with her bestie makes life even sweeter.<\/p>\n

“When you\u2019re doing it with a best friend and like a sister, it becomes a life experience that I don\u2019t think we were expecting back then,” she said. “It’s more than just a show. It\u2019s like this has been our lives for six years, and we\u2019ve gone through so many ups and downs together that this feels like a celebration of not only just like a fifth season, but of the sisterhood, and that\u2019s really special.”<\/p>\n

“We feel so grounded with each other,” Park added.<\/p>\n

Collins and Park have become so embedded in each other’s lives that they have an inexplicable connection, according to Collins.<\/p>\n

“We always start crying when we get emotional because if (Park) feels something, I feel it. It\u2019s very strange,” she said. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou were in Copenhagen, like last week, and we were talking about something. I can feel any sort of emotion from her and vice versa.
