HUNTINGTON, W.Va. \u2013 Marshall made 13-of-30 (.433) from three and scored 27 points off 20 James Madison turnovers to top the Dukes in overtime, 83-74, in Sun Belt Conference women’s basketball action on Saturday afternoon inside the Cam Henderson Center.

\nLeading 58-51 heading into the final period, JMU (9-5, 1-1 Sun Belt) shot 3-of-13 (.231) from the field, connecting on just two shots in the final 7:16 of regulation.
\n\u00a0
\nIn overtime, the Thundering Herd (11-3, 2-0 Sun Belt) hit every shot, going 7-for-7 from the line, 4-for-4 from the floor and 1-for-1 from three-point range. Meanwhile, JMU went just 1-of-11 (.091) in the extra period.

\nAshanti Barnes<\/a> led the way for JMU with 21 points and nine rebounds, with all her points coming in the first half. McDaniel finished with 19 points on 7-for-18 and produced a career-best four assists.

\nBree Robinson<\/a> chipped in with nine points, a season-high six boards and tied her career high with five steals, while Brianna McLeod<\/a> added eight points, four rebounds and three blocks off the bench.

\nFor Marshall, freshman Olivia Olson scored a career-high 26 points, knocking down 6-of-11 (.545) from behind the arc. Timaya Lewis-Eutsey posted 20 points on 7-of-17 and led all players with seven assists.

\nFirst Quarter \u2013 JMU 21, Marshall 14<\/p>\n


\n\tA 7-0 run in a 1:07 spurt gave the Dukes a 13-11 edge at the first media timeout.
\n\tJMU closed on a 15-3 run, with Marshall going scoreless for the final 4:29.
\n\tBarnes was a major offensive factor, registering 13 points on 5-of-6 (.833) from the field. <\/p>\n

\nSecond Quarter \u2013 JMU 45, Marshall 38<\/p>\n


\n\tBoth teams connected on 10 shots from the floor (JMU \u2013 10-of-13, Marshall \u2013 10-of-18) as the Dukes maintained their seven-point advantage (45-38) through 30 minutes.
\n\tBarnes shot a perfect 4-for-4 for 21 points at the intermission.
\n\tOlson kept the Thundering Herd within striking distance by knocking down 3-of-4 (.750) from three for nine points in the period. <\/p>\n

\n\tAfter making three baskets in the first minute, Marshall went without a field goal for the next 3:47.
\n\tJMU went on a 6-0 run that coincided with a 4:54 scoreless stretch for the Thundering Herd late in the frame to keep the Dukes ahead by seven (58-51) after three. <\/p>\n

\n\tJMU suffered a scoring drought of its own, going without points for 2:57 heading into the media timeout, but still holding a slight 64-61 lead.
\n\tA three by McDaniel put the Dukes ahead 67-63 with 2:34 remaining in regulation, however, free throws by Lewis-Eutsey and a layup from Yeast forced overtime. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe Thundering Herd hit every shot, going 7-for-7 from the line, 4-for-4 from the floor and 1-for-1 from three-point range.

\n\tJames Madison held an advantage in points in the paint (38-28) and second-chance points (18-10).
\n\tJMU shot 60.0% (18-of-30) from the field in the first half, compared to 31.0% (9-of-29) in the second.
\n\tMarshall sank 14-of-14 from the free throw line, becoming the first team to go perfect from the charity stripe against the Dukes since Villanova went 10-for-10 in a 71-67 JMU victory on Dec. 15, 2024.
\n\tThe Dukes tied their season best with 45 points in the first half, previously doing so against Kent State (Nov. 4) and East Carolina (Dec. 3).
\n\tRobinson has come away with five steals four times in her career.
\n\tMcLeod recorded her sixth collegiate game with three or more blocks.
