\n\tFormer 007 Pierce Brosnan<\/a>, like many top industry talent, is voicing his concerns over the future of cinematic offerings in the wake of the proposed Netflix<\/a> takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe star of The Thursday Murder Club<\/a>, the streamer\u2019s adaptation of the first of Richard Osman\u2019s five novels, described the merger as \u201cunsettling\u201d in a new interview with The Times U.K.<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cTo have one dominant force that colors what we see, how we see it and where we see it is a change that doesn\u2019t feel culturally right,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Mamma Mia! alum continued, \u201cI love cinema and I\u2019ve seen cinemas evaporate from the landscape where I live in California, and here in London. Netflix has given me employment, but you have to be diligent and ask yourself: How do you now traverse these waters without getting mangled and embittered by it?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBrosnan \u2014 who will soon appear in Giant, the biographical boxing drama centering on former British pro Naseem Hamed \u2014 is the latest figure to scrutinize and critique the corporate move, alongside the likes of James Cameron and Jane Fonda.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Dec. 5,\u00a0Netflix announced it would be buying WBD and its streaming assets in a deal worth $82.7 billion<\/a>, a valuation of nearly $28 a share.\u00a0Shortly thereafter,\u00a0Paramount Skydance launched a hostile bid<\/a>, a cash offer of $30 per share. Since then, WBD has urged its shareholders to reject<\/a> the latter\u2019s proposition, saying it is moving ahead with Netflix\u2019s initial offer.
