Actress and musician Nana Frema Koranteng has revealed that she stepped away from acting because it was financially unrewarding.<\/p>\n

Speaking on MzGee\u2019s G O\u2019Clock, Frema explained that she made the decision after returning to the entertainment scene following maternity leave. The mother of two boys said she now prefers to focus fully on music, which remains her first love.<\/p>\n

Nana Frema, who first rose to prominence as a contestant on Vodafone Icons, ventured into acting after the music reality show but has since taken a long break from the movie industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have not been doing movies for a very long time. I will probably come back, but now my first love is music,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

When asked why she abandoned her acting career, Frema disclosed that many producers expected her to work without pay, while others required her to use her personal belongings, including costumes, on set.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was not paying; I will not even lie to you,\u201d she stated. \u201cPeople will want you to come and work for them for free, and I kept asking myself, when is this going to stop? You want me on set\u2014that is why you cast me\u2014so why don\u2019t you pay me?\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cSometimes they even expect us to come with our own costumes.
