US Weekly<\/a> reported that a source claimed that Charles isn\u2019t happy with the recent optics. In particular, Charles doesn\u2019t like the public\u2019s perception<\/a> that William was behind\u00a0Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor<\/a> losing his position. Charles was allegedly \u201cnot thrilled\u201d about\u00a0these whispers. \u201cHe doesn\u2019t feel great about it, as he has finally attained the position he has waited for his whole life. Now that he\u2019s king, everyone is focused on who will come next,\u201d the source claimed.<\/p>\n The insider continued, \u201cCharles wants William to succeed, but William can be strong-minded and stubborn.\u201d Of course, there have been rumors of friction as William put forth his ideas for a more stripped-down monarchy<\/a>. Naturally, Charles, who waited a long time to become king, could possibly bristle at William\u2019s future plans.<\/p>\n A second source stated, \u201cNo power has been relinquished to William. William has his own office and staff separate from the king, and he and Charles work closely together.
