(Jack Jacobs photo)<\/p>\n<p>HCA is extending its growing urgent care arm into eastern Henrico.<\/p>\n<p>The health system recently leased the closed Red Lobster building at 4415 S. Laburnum Ave., where it plans to open a location of its CareNow urgent care brand. The 7,200-square-foot building is an outparcel of the White Oak Village shopping center.<\/p>\n<p>The clinic is anticipated to open in 2026, according to HCA spokesman Wes Hester.<\/p>\n<p>The existing restaurant building would be renovated to accommodate the clinic. The new location comes as part of a $5 million plan that HCA announced this fall to open three new urgent care outposts in the Richmond region over the next couple years. HCA is also planning to open <a href=\"https:\/\/richmondbizsense.com\/2025\/11\/05\/hca-plans-urgent-care-center-in-chester-as-bon-secours-opens-similar-clinic-in-henrico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">a CareNow location in Chester<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is part of our strategic effort to increase access points in our communities, bringing high-quality care closer to where people live and work,\u201d Hester said in an email.<\/p>\n<p>HCA entered the local urgent care business<a href=\"https:\/\/richmondbizsense.com\/2022\/06\/03\/hca-healthcare-seals-purchase-of-local-urgent-care-chain-bettermed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"> in 2022 with the acquisition of BetterMed<\/a>, and the locations were rebranded to CareNow. The clinics are designed to handle minor injuries and illnesses.<\/p>\n<p>HCA didn\u2019t share details about the number of treatment rooms and other features that will be included in the former restaurant building or the estimated cost of the facility. Hester said the project\u2019s details were still being finalized.<\/p>\n<p>Matt Hamilton of CBRE represented HCA in lease negotiations for the space, while CBRE\u2019s Pam Strieffler and Ian Webster represented the landlord, Florida-firm Hedgebase AI, which bought the building for $3.8 million in early November, according to online land records.<\/p>\n<p>The former Red Lobster at White Oak isn\u2019t the only shuttered restaurant in the eastern Henrico shopping center that\u2019s being reimagined.<\/p>\n<p>The nearby <a href=\"https:\/\/richmondbizsense.com\/2025\/10\/17\/tgi-fridays-in-eastern-henrico-closes-property-slated-for-redevelopment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">TGI Fridays at 4459 S. Laburnum Ave., which went dark in October<\/a>, is slated for redevelopment, according to recent county filings. That project would involve the nearby T-Mobile retail location at White Oak to relocate and occupy a portion of the former TGI Fridays in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>HCA competitor Bon Secours has also recently opened similar urgent care clinics in Henrico. One of the newest Bon Secours urgent care facilities is at 4835 S.
