Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban<\/a>\u2018s kids have apparently picked a side for the holidays. A source told People<\/a> in a report published on December 25 that Kidman and Urban<\/a>\u2018s daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, chose to spend Christmas with their mother during their parents\u2019 divorce.<\/p>\n

According to the source, Kidman<\/a> flew back to Australia, where she\u2019s from, with Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret for her first Christmas since her divorce from Urban. \u201cNicole and the girls are in Australia for Christmas. This is all she wanted after a tumultuous fall,\u201d the insider said. \u201cShe just wanted to celebrate Christmas at home. She\u2019s very excited.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kidman<\/a> filed for divorce from Urban<\/a> in September 2025 after 20 years of marriage. She cited \u201cirreconcilable differences\u201d as the reason for the split. According to People\u2018s source, Kidman \u2014 who is also a mother to son Connor and daughter Bella with her ex-husband Tom Cruise \u2014 is \u201cdoing well\u201d despite everything that\u2019s happened in her personal life. \u201cShe\u2019s been super positive and focused on things that she\u2019s grateful for. And there are so many! She feels very blessed,\u201d the insider said.<\/p>\n

News of Kidman<\/a>\u2018s daughters spending Christmas with her come after a source told #ShutterScoop in October 2025 that the girls feel closer to the actress amid her parents\u2019 divorce. \u201cThey love their dad, but Nicole\u2019s been the constant,\u201d the insider said. \u201cShe\u2019s been there for every school event, every bedtime. Keith\u2019s been touring, filming \u2014 gone.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for why Faith Margaret and Sunday Rose are closer to Kidman, the source claimed that Urban\u2019s alleged \u201cfiery temperament\u201d during their parents\u2019 marriage is to blame. \u201cThe girls have seen who held it all together,\u201d the insider said. \u201cThey feel safest with Nicole.\u201d<\/p>\n

The source also claimed that Kidman refused to badmouth Urban in front of their kids while focusing on creating stability in their household. \u201cShe\u2019s turning their home into a sanctuary,\u201d the insider said. \u201cThere\u2019s yoga, journaling, family dinners \u2014 all about healing.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for Urban, the source reported that the singer is \u201cheartbroken\u201d by his daughters\u2019 choice. He knows he\u2019s losing more than a marriage \u2014 he\u2019s losing time with his girls,\u201d the insider said. \u201cNicole has the daughters emotionally and physically. The loyalty lines are drawn \u2014 and they\u2019re standing with Mom.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret\u2019s closer relationship with Kidman, a source told People<\/a> in November that the daughters still spend a good amount of time with their father. \u201cTheir daughters live with Nicole, but spend as much time with Keith as they want,\u201d the insider said. \u201cThere is no drama.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another source added in December, \u201cNicole and Keith continue to co-parent. The focus is on their daughters. They both want to create a stable and supportive environment for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to court documents obtained by People, Kidman and Urban agreed on a coparenting plan, which includes refraining from speaking negatively about each other or their families. \u201c[They will] encourage each child to continue to love the other parent and be comfortable in both families,\u201d the court documents state. Both Kidman and Urban were also required to attend a parenting seminar within 60 days of the divorce filing. Kidman was also designated the primary residential parent, spending 306 days with Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, while Urban will have them for 59 days annually.<\/p>\n
