Aubrey Plaza is a \u201990s kid through and through. \u201cI\u2019m a \u201990s kid and I still gravitate towards a \u201990s aesthetic,\u201d the actor tells Vogue. \u201cI would describe my day-to-day style as functional, comfortable, and mood-inspired. Some days I feel like trying more than other days. But a throughline, for sure, a \u2018less is more\u2019 approach.\u201d<\/p>\n
Plaza is partial to classic pieces. \u201cMost days I want to wear jeans and a button-down shirt. I don\u2019t like to feel locked in. I like classic pieces,\u201d she says, adding, \u201cI love a black blazer, T-shirt, and jeans. Done.\u201d<\/p>\n
It\u2019s no wonder, then, that Plaza joined the likes of fellow pared-back fashion plates Laura Harrier and Annabelle Dexter-Jones in the front row at Toteme\u2019s spring 2026 show<\/a>. Plaza traded her jeans and button-downs for a look straight from the runway: an airy, crinkled cotton white sheath dress with a caped white cotton twill jacket, and a structured black croc-embossed top-handle purse, the new Clip Bag. \u201cI focused on the textural experience with this look,\u201d Plaza says. \u201cI love the feel of all the Toteme pieces. Someone else who probably would\u2019ve liked the Toteme show? Her Megalopolis<\/a> character. \u201cWow, Platinum had a pretty stunning closet. Perfectly tailored suits for days,\u201d she says. But if she could steal any past character\u2019s closet? \u201cI would go with Harper from The White Lotus<\/a>: Local designers, globally conscious, and chic.\u201d<\/p>\n While Harper earned Plaza an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role, she\u2019s recently turned her attention to theater. \u201cYou only get one chance on stage when performing live. It adds a different, exhilarating energy to perform in front of an audience. It\u2019s a different mindset,\u201d she says. \u201cOn screen, you can control the performance more and try again most times.
