WASHINGTON (TNND) \u2014 President Donald Trump said during a Monday press conference that the future White House ballroom will have a \u201cdrone-free roof.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNow, it\u2019s bigger than I told you,\u201d Trump said during the press briefing, according to The Hill newspaper<\/a>. <\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s, you know \u2014 after realizing we\u2019re gonna do the inauguration in that building. It\u2019s got all bulletproof glass, it\u2019s got all drone \u2014 they call it drone-free roof, so drones won\u2019t touch it. It\u2019s a big, beautiful, safe building.\u201d<\/p>\n Trump said last week that the ballroom would cost $400 million to build.<\/p>\n \u201cFor 150 years they wanted a ballroom, and we\u2019re giving them \u2014 myself and donors are giving them, free of charge for nothing \u2014 we\u2019re donating a building that\u2019s approximately $400 million,\u201d Trump said at a Hanukkah event that took place at the White House. <\/p>\n \u201cI think I\u2019ll do it for less. But it\u2019s [$400 million]. I should do it for less. I will do it for less.\u201d<\/p>\n The ballroom construction will likely be completed in 2028<\/a>.<\/p>\n The price for the building increased. It was originally going to cost an estimated $300 million<\/a>.<\/p>\n The White House has already demolished the East Wing in order to start construction on the ballroom.<\/p>\n
