House for Two Musicians, Portugal, by Atelier Matteo Arnone<\/a><\/p>\n

Italian studio Atelier Matteo Arnone designed a symmetrical home with minimalist white walls for two DJs in Portugal.<\/p>\n

Inside, a pair of semicircular recording studios on the upper level jut into the double-height bedroom<\/a> and living<\/a> space below, which were placed on either side of a central courtyard.<\/p>\n

Terracotta Breath, Vietnam, by Live Out Studio<\/a><\/p>\n

Terracotta Breath is a multi-generational house in Vietnam that was designed by architecture practice Live Out Studio as a “home that breathes”.<\/p>\n

It contains two residences separated by a narrow courtyard, with reddish-brown facades made from perforated<\/a> brick and clay<\/a> render.<\/p>\n

Patio House, Spain, by Arquitectura-G<\/a><\/p>\n

Folding timber\u00a0shutters<\/a> open onto a central courtyard with a pool<\/a> at Patio House in Costa Brava, which was designed by Spanish studio\u00a0Arquitectura-G<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Aiming to create a home with simple geometry, Arquitectura-G nestled the single-storey home into the sloped site, wrapping two L-shaped wings around the square-shaped courtyard.<\/p>\n

Bondi House, Australia, by Nick Kent Design<\/a><\/p>\n

Local studio Nick Kent Design applied translucent\u00a0polycarbonate<\/a>\u00a0screens and metal\u00a0louvres<\/a> to this home in\u00a0Sydney<\/a>, aiming to create an interesting play of light and shadow.<\/p>\n

Its structure was made from a lightweight metal frame so the internal and external walls could be non-load-bearing, allowing for the home to be easily reconfigured in the future.<\/p>\n

Casa Guapuruvus, Brazil, by Cornetta Arquitetura<\/a><\/p>\n

Nestled in\u00a0the Atlantic Forest outside of\u00a0S\u00e3o Paulo<\/a>, Brazilian studio Cornetta Arquitetura designed this prefabricated holiday home<\/a> to make as little impact on the native flora as possible.<\/p>\n

Raised above the forest floor on a concrete and masonry base, Casa Guapuruvus was constructed from a combination of glued-laminated timber<\/a>, nailed-laminated timber, black metal columns and light-steel framing walls.<\/p>\n
