The game will tip at 7:30 PM and will be streamed on Peacock. Legendary Voice of the Terps <a href=\"https:\/\/umterps.com\/staff-directory\/johnny-holliday\/290\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"290\" target=\"_blank\">Johnny Holliday<\/a> will call the action for the Maryland Sports Radio Network alongside Chris Knoche and Walt Williams.<\/p>\n<p>The early schedule has turned into one of Maryland&#8217;s toughest of all-time with four AP Top 25 teams in that six game stretch (Iowa was No. 25 in USA Today Coaches Poll, but receiving votes in AP Top Top 25 poll). The closest previously was Maryland&#8217;s 1955-56 schedule that had three straight AP ranked teams (#12 Kentucky, #11 North Carolina, No. 16 Michigan State) and then No. 7 George Washington in an early six-game stretch.<\/p>\n<p>Five of Maryland&#8217;s last six games have come against Top 30 NCAA NET teams. Maryland has the 14th toughest Strength of Schedule (by NET).<\/p>\n<p>The Terps have had a total of 24 games missed this year due to injury including at Virginia and against Old Dominion\u00a0where leading scorer <a href=\"https:\/\/umterps.com\/sports\/mens-basketball\/roster\/pharrel-payne\/14827\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"14827\" target=\"_blank\">Pharrel Payne<\/a> (17.5ppg) was out after being injured against Michigan.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>Series History<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tWith the addition of the four West Coast Big Ten schools prior to the 2024-25 season, this will mark just the second all-time meeting between Maryland and Oregon. He leads the Terps with 17.5 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. He ranks 10th in the Big Ten in scoring, third in field goal percentage, and fourth in made free throws. On the glass, he is 10th in the league for rebounds per game and fifth in offensive boards.&#13;<br \/>\n\tPayne scored a career-high 30 points and had his second double-double of the season with 10 rebounds in the win over Wagner. The senior was 8-of-11 from the field and 14-of-20 at the free throw line. His 20 free throw attempts were two more than Wagner had as a team. Payne&#8217;s 30\/10 double-double was the first for a Terp since Jahmir Young did so against Ohio State in 2023.&#13;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Pharrel Payne\" class=\"sidearm-story-image-align-center\" height=\"1080\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/MBBGameday26_1920_PayneBack_SEObo.jpg\" style=\"display: inline-block;\" width=\"1920\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Diggy, Diggy, Diggy Can&#8217;t You See&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tDiggy Coit had himself a night in the win over Mount St. Mary&#8217;s. The graduate guard scored 41 points to set a new XFINITY Center single-game scoring record. The previous XFINITY Center record was 39 by Diamond Stone in 2015 for Maryland and 39 by Jamison Battle of Minnesota in 2022.\u00a0&#13;<br \/>\n\tCoit scored 16 of Maryland&#8217;s final 19 points in the last 6:27 of the second half including the game-tying three pointer to force overtime.\u00a0&#13;<br \/>\n\tOverall, Coit finished with a ridiculous stat line: 11-of-17 from the floor, 8-of-10 beyond the arc, and 11-of-11 at the free throw line. Dating back to 2004, Coit is just one of 14 players to shoot 64 percent or better from the floor with 8-or-more threes and 11-or-more made free throws.&#13;<br \/>\n\tHe earned Big Ten Player of the Week and USBWA National Player of the Week honors for the performance.&#13;<br \/>\n\tDiggy Coit&#8217;s 1,402\u00a0career points are 44th\u00a0among active NCAA players.&#13;<br \/>\n\tAmong the top 14 players under 6-0 on the scoring list, the 5-foot-11 Coit has the fifth-most career points.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\t\u00a0&#13;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"David &quot;Diggy&quot; Coit Posed Promo Photo\" class=\"sidearm-story-image-align-center\" height=\"750\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Coit__David_8_mlm_MBB_ContentDayWhite_0054.jpg\" style=\"display: inline-block;\" width=\"1333\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Palpable Buzz<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/umterps.com\/sports\/mens-basketball\/roster\/coaches\/buzz-williams\/2635\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"2635\" target=\"_blank\">Buzz Williams<\/a> was named head coach at Maryland on April 2, 2025 after re-building Texas A&amp;M into a program that reached three consecutive NCAA Tournaments. For his career, he seeking to become one of just three NCAA Division I head coaches to post 100 career wins at four different institutions \u2013 Maryland Hall of Fame Coach <a href=\"https:\/\/umterps.com\/staff-directory\/lefty-driesell\/4198\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4198\" target=\"_blank\">Lefty Driesell<\/a> and Steve Alford.&#13;<br \/>\n\tWilliams is one of 12 active Division I head coaches to win at least one NCAA Tournament game at three different programs. He&#8217;s coached in 23 NCAA Tournament games, winning 12, both of which rank among the Top 25 among all Division I head coaches.&#13;<br \/>\n\tIn 2024-25, <a href=\"https:\/\/umterps.com\/sports\/mens-basketball\/roster\/coaches\/buzz-williams\/2635\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"2635\" target=\"_blank\">Buzz Williams<\/a> earned his 100th win at Texas A&amp;M with a 77-73 victory over Creighton (11\/27).
