Wednesday and The Rings of Power are currently embarking upon their third seasons, while the Harry Potter reboot and a Magic the Gathering series sit eagerly on the horizon. Percy Jackson and the Olympians is flying high on Disney+, while HBO continues to expand the world of Westeros.<\/p>\n

While there’s plenty of great live-action fantasy to enjoy, don’t overlook animated fare. Netflix’s Arcane dropped two stellar seasons, The Dragon King is currently in the works as a sequel to The Dragon Prince, and Avatar Studios is finally bringing back Aang and the gang on Paramount+. Even better, 2026 marks the return of the best fantasy series on TV<\/a> right now.<\/p>\n

The Legend Of Vox Machina Has A 2026 Release Window<\/p>\n

Critical Role fans were spoiled during The Legend of Vox Machina’s early years. With Amazon green-lighting two seasons from the start, only a year passed between The Legend of Vox Machina seasons 1 and 2. While the renewal for season 3 soon came, viewers had a little longer to wait, with 20 months between The Legend of Vox Machina season 2’s ending and season 3’s premiere.<\/p>\n

If Prime Video continues at that same rate, The Legend of Vox Machina season 4<\/a> should debut around June 2026, but it’s worth noting that the Critical Role crew has also been busy with sibling series The Mighty Nein, which released its first season in late 2025. As such, The Legend of Machina’s next mission<\/a> could arrive a little later than expected. Still, a release window of 2026 has been officially confirmed, meaning Vox Machina will be back in our lives within the next 12 months.<\/p>\n

The Legend Of Vox Machina Season 4 Will Set Up The Final Season<\/p>\n

In addition to a fourth run, Amazon simultaneously granted The Legend of Vox Machina a fifth and final season to round out the story. Given where the narrative stands currently, that makes sense. After a handful of small teases in season 1, The Legend of Vox Machina season 3 ended with The Whispered One<\/a> finally pushing his way to the foreground.<\/p>\n

Just as the Chroma Conclave arc spanned two seasons, it would seem that the Whispered One (as the show’s final boss) will become the focal point for The Legend of Vox Machina seasons 4 and 5.<\/p>\n

Other storylines The Legend of Vox Machina must tie up across its last two seasons include Keyleth’s Arament\u00e9, the consequences of Vax’s deal with the Matron of Ravens, and the show’s last remaining will-they-won’t-they romance: Scanlan and Pike.<\/p>\n

It’s difficult to say whether The Legend of Vox Machina or The Mighty Nein<\/a> is the best fantasy TV show currently running, but it’s definitely one of them. Vox Machina perhaps edges it by virtue of being more fully fleshed-out at this point compared to Critical Role’s second series.<\/p>\n

The Legend of Vox Machina is a potent mixture of heartfelt emotional moments, characters that have been lovingly developed over the course of many years, a sense of humor that thrives on the cast’s inimitable chemistry, and world-building that blends Dungeons & Dragons with the creativity and imagination that defines Critical Role.<\/p>\n

For existing fans, The Legend of Vox Machina offers an authentic experience comparable to Critical Role’s first online campaign, but coming into the series with absolutely no idea who Matthew Mercer is doesn’t detract whatsoever from the show’s impact. Fantasy may be booming as 2025 comes to an end, but no TV series brings the genre’s core components together quite as brilliantly as The Legend of Vox Machina.<\/p>\n
