Doechii<\/a> has joined forces with SZA<\/a> for a new song \u2014 and she has a few things to get off her chest.<\/p>\n

Released by surprise on Tuesday (December 30), \u201cGirl, Get Up\u201d finds the burgeoning superstar addressing her detractors\u2019 claims that she\u2019s a so-called \u201cindustry plant.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAll that industry plant shit wack \/ I see it in the blogs, I see you in the chats \/ \u2018You sucked every rap n*gga dick from the back\u2019 \/ But what\u2019s the agenda when the \u2018it\u2019 girl Black? \/ Y\u2019all can\u2019t fathom that I worked this hard \/ And y\u2019all can\u2019t fathom that I earned this chart,\u201d she spits in a defiant second verse.<\/p>\n

Produced by Jay Versace<\/a> and sampling the instantly-recognizable percussion from Birdman<\/a> and Clipse<\/a>\u2018s \u201cWhat Happened to That Boy,\u201d the track also finds Doechii hinting at more strong words for her critics on her upcoming album.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese n*ggas misogynistic, I\u2019ll address it on the album \/ For now, let\u2019s sink into the fact that hate don\u2019t make you powerful,\u201d she raps, before adding: \u201cThe album six months old, it need a fuckin\u2019 babysitter \/ I did eight years of failin\u2019, plus a lot of cold winters \/ Used to be a starvin\u2019 artist, now I want the whole dinner.\u201d<\/p>\n

SZA, meanwhile, complements her fellow TDE labelmate with a smooth chorus that showcases her vocal range, surging from a laidback flow to a piercing falsetto.<\/p>\n

\u201cGirl, Get Up\u201d is the second collaboration between Doechii and SZA, who previously linked up on \u201cPersuasive (Remix)\u201d from the former\u2019s 2022 EP she \/ her \/ black bitch.<\/p>\n

The song caps off a banner year for the self-proclaimed Swamp Princess, who stole the show at the 2025 Grammy Awards<\/a> where she delivered an enthralling performance and emotional acceptance speech after becoming just the third woman to win Best Rap Album for Alligator Bites Never Heal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know that there is some Black girl out there, so many Black women out there, that are watching me right now, and I want to tell you, you can do it. Anything is possible,\u201d she said to a standing ovation inside the star-studded Crypto.com Arena.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t allow anybody to project any stereotypes on you that tell you you can\u2019t be here, that you\u2019re too dark or not smart enough or too dramatic or too loud. You are exactly who you need to be, to be right where you are \u2014 and I am a testimony!\u201d<\/p>\n
