Over the years, Benedict Cumberbatch<\/a> has only continued to grow his career across the big and small screens in various roles. With all the movies and TV shows from Cumberbatch<\/a>, one of his past projects is now finding new success in 2026.<\/p>\n

Originally released on November 9, 2018, The Grinch<\/a>, with Cumberbatch voicing the iconic Christmas-hating creature, has surged on the streaming charts worldwide for Netflix, as it is currently trending at #1. According to FlixPatrol, the 2018 entry is at #1 in Croatia, the Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Latvia, and New Caledonia.<\/p>\n

Other countries that have also gotten The Grinch to #1 on Netflix are Reunion, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Spain. The Scott Mosier and Yarrow Cheney-directed feature is also at #2 on the streaming service in countries such as Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Iceland, Malta, and Norway.<\/p>\n

For audience members in the United States, the film can be rented on Apple TV, Prime Video, or through a Freeform subscription. As it was produced on a reported $75 million budget, The Grinch became a box office hit, grossing $552.9 million worldwide.<\/p>\n

Domestically, The Grinch grossed $272.5 million, while $280.4 million came from international ticket sales. On Rotten Tomatoes, the 2018 adaptation has a 60% score, while having 54% on the Popcornmeter.<\/p>\n

In ScreenRant’s The Grinch movie review<\/a>, Molly Freeman shared how the Cumberbatch-starring film worked as “a modernized retelling of Dr. Seuss’s classic, with some compelling tweaks to the story and characters for plenty of family fun.” Freeman also praised the animated iteration for “the Grinch’s own arc,” describing how it “is different in certain key ways to what’s previously been presented by adaptations of Dr. Seuss’s story.”<\/p>\n
