The Shang-Chi <\/a>star, 36, revealed to PEOPLE at New York Comic-Con that he formed his closest bond on the new superhero film with one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s newest additions. \u201cI mean, I definitely can say for sure, I came away from Doomsday with a lot of really fantastic friendships,\u201d Liu shared.<\/p>\n \u201cChanning Tatum\u2026 I wanted to shout him out because he’s just one of my favorite human beings. And I just had such a phenomenal time with him onset [and] offset,\u201d Liu said of the 45-year-old actor who plays the superhero Gambit<\/a>. \u201cHe’s just, you know, such an admirable person.\u201d<\/p>\n Karwai Tang\/WireImage; Disney\/Marvel<\/p>\n From Left: Channing Tatum in October 2025; and as Gambit in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’<\/p>\n The Barbie actor \u2014 who shared a photo<\/a> with his fellow Doomsday cast members, including Tatum, Chris Hemsworth<\/a>, Robert Downey Jr.<\/a>, Anthony Mackie<\/a> and others in May \u2014 opened up about what it was like to join such an all-star lineup. \u201cI was lucky enough to be a part of [Doomsday],\u201d he told PEOPLE, before emphasizing during his Comic-Con panel for the new series The Copenhagen Test about \u201cwhat an incredible call\u201d it was \u201cto get.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI experienced kind of many waves of excitement<\/a>.
