The Rainbow Wahine defeated the Cougars, 163-136, while the Rainbow Warriors finished strong but fell short to BYU, 167-133.<\/p>\n<p>For the Rainbow Warriors, <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/mens-swimming-and-diving\/roster\/karol-ostrowski\/22245\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"22245\" target=\"_blank\">Karol Ostrowski<\/a> earned the most points of the dual meet, winning three individual golds while leading off the winning men&#8217;s 400 freestyle relay team to rack up a\u00a0 total of 789.8 total points. The speedy Ostrowski won the 50 backstroke (21.49), the 50 freestyle (19.63) and the 50 butterfly (20.91).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The &#8216;Bows closed out the day, capturing the 400 freestyle relay gold (2:54.98)&#8211;over three seconds faster than the Cougars. Ostrowski led off the relay swimming a 43.68 that gave the &#8216;Bows a solid lead which <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/mens-swimming-and-diving\/roster\/finn-brophy\/22236\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"22236\" target=\"_blank\">Finn Brophy<\/a> (43.46), <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/mens-swimming-and-diving\/roster\/victor-dagenais\/22240\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"22240\" target=\"_blank\">Victor Dagenais<\/a> (44.14) and <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/mens-swimming-and-diving\/roster\/regan-richardson\/22248\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"22248\" target=\"_blank\">Regan Richardson<\/a> (43.70) held on to for the victory. Ostrowski was just .06 seconds from tying his own pool record set in 2025.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/mens-swimming-and-diving\/roster\/korey-tiell\/22252\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"22252\" target=\"_blank\">Korey Tiell<\/a> edged out BYU&#8217;s Tanner Nelson by :17th of a second to clinch the gold in the 200 backstroke. Tiell touched the wall at 1:48.34 for the win.<\/p>\n<p>Men&#8217;s diver <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/mens-swimming-and-diving\/roster\/juan-esteban-ramirez-tamayo\/22246\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"22246\" target=\"_blank\">Juan Esteban Ramirez Tamayo<\/a> swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions. He led off the meet by winning the 1-meter springboard event with a total score of 338.40. He then held on to win the 3M springboard with a total of 386.18 points.\u00a0 UH&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/mens-swimming-and-diving\/roster\/oliver-wignall\/22264\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"22264\" target=\"_blank\">Oliver Wignall<\/a> captured bronze in both events tallying 292.35 points in the 1M and a 345.83 points in the 3M, <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/mens-swimming-and-diving\/roster\/tristan-rodriguez\/22263\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"22263\" target=\"_blank\">Tristan Rodriguez<\/a> finished in fifth in both events with a 219.68 score in the 1M and a 345.83 in the 3M.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Rainbow Wahine won six individual events and were led by <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/womens-swimming-and-diving\/roster\/holly-nelson\/22275\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"22275\" target=\"_blank\">Holly Nelson<\/a> who had a meet-high 720.0 points with three individual golds and a relay silver, while <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/womens-swimming-and-diving\/roster\/zofia-tyminska\/22278\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"22278\" target=\"_blank\">Zofia Tyminska<\/a> finished third with 680.3 points with a gold and three silvers. Nelson recorded wins in the 50 freestyle (22.84), the 100 free (49.72) and the 50 butterfly in a personal best time of 24.07. Tyminska won gold in the 200 breaststroke clocking in at 2:17.65. Her silver medals came in the 50 breaststroke (28.96), the 200 individual medley (2:06.06) and she swam the breaststroke leg of the second-place 400 medley relay (3:43.47).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/womens-swimming-and-diving\/roster\/aziza-meyer\/22288\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"22288\" target=\"_blank\">Aziza Meyer<\/a> won the 50 backstroke with a personal-best time of 25.88. <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/womens-swimming-and-diving\/roster\/rebekka-luoto\/22287\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"22287\" target=\"_blank\">Rebekka Luoto<\/a> edged out Tyminska to win the 50 breaststroke with a time of 28.76 and <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/womens-swimming-and-diving\/roster\/kailee-chow\/22267\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"22267\" target=\"_blank\">Kailee Chow<\/a> won the 200 butterfly 2:04.<\/p>\n<p>The women&#8217;s diving team dominated both the 3-meter and 1-meter springboard events, sweeping the top five places in both. In the 3-meter, <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/womens-swimming-and-diving\/roster\/lovisa-gustavsson\/22270\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"22270\" target=\"_blank\">Lovisa Gustavsson<\/a> led the charge, seizing gold with a total of 323.03 in six dives. <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/womens-swimming-and-diving\/roster\/macie-wheeler\/22279\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"22279\" target=\"_blank\">Macie Wheeler<\/a> claimed silver with a score of 307.80 while <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/womens-swimming-and-diving\/roster\/avery-coates\/22268\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"22268\" target=\"_blank\">Avery Coates<\/a> finished in third scoring 284.48 total points. <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/womens-swimming-and-diving\/roster\/ruby-pickron\/22277\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"22277\" target=\"_blank\">Ruby Pickron<\/a> tallying 278.18 while <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiiathletics.com\/sports\/womens-swimming-and-diving\/roster\/keira-chandler\/22282\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"22282\" target=\"_blank\">Keira Chandler<\/a> earned 240.30 total points to start the meet. In the 1M, Wheeler clinched the top-spot recording a 289.65 score while Gustavsson finished in second with 274.65 points. Coats was third finishing with 249.53 points while Pickron posted 243.45 for fourth and Chandler tallied a score of 234.83 for fifth place.<\/p>\n<p>The Hawai&#8217;i swimming teams will next host Pacific Lutheran on Monday, Jan. 5 at 1:00 p.m. HT at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Complex.
