{"id":220097,"date":"2026-01-04T15:00:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-04T15:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/220097\/"},"modified":"2026-01-04T15:00:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-04T15:00:08","slug":"egypt-qatar-sign-mou-for-lng-supply","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/220097\/","title":{"rendered":"Egypt, Qatar Sign MoU for LNG Supply"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/EgyptMOPMR\/posts\/1189916903323279?ref=embed_post\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">signed<\/a> a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on January 4 with Saad bin Sherida Al-Kaabi, Qatar\u2019s Minister of State for Energy Affairs and CEO of QatarEnergy, to secure a steady supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Egypt.<\/p>\n<p>In a decisive step toward consolidating Egypt\u2019s energy security, the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) and QatarEnergy <a href=\"https:\/\/thepeninsulaqatar.com\/article\/04\/01\/2026\/qatarenergy-egas-sign-agreement-to-supply-up-to-24-lng-cargoes-to-egypt\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">finalized<\/a> an executive mechanism for the delivery of natural gas cargoes to be delivered in Ain Sokhna and Damietta ports throughout the summer of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>This MoU reinforces the strategic partnership between Egypt and Qatar in energy. Currently operating across six offshore blocks in the Mediterranean, QatarEnergy aims to increase investment over the next five years and launch a new drilling campaign alongside leading global energy partners, according to a statement by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.<\/p>\n<p>The MoU <a href=\"https:\/\/egyptoil-gas.com\/news\/egypt-qatar-discuss-expanding-energy-cooperation\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">builds<\/a> upon a strategic foundation laid during a May 2025 meeting in Doha, where Badawi and Al-Kaabi first discussed long-term contracts and infrastructure integration.
