{"id":221659,"date":"2026-01-05T13:42:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T13:42:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/221659\/"},"modified":"2026-01-05T13:42:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-05T13:42:08","slug":"what-to-look-out-for-in-2026-for-england-teams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/221659\/","title":{"rendered":"What to look out for in 2026 for England teams"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>England\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\/articles\/2025\/Nov\/04\/Womens-World-Cup-2027-qualifying-Draw-04112025\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">qualifying campaign begins in March<\/a>\u00a0with games against Ukraine and Iceland before taking on Spain and playing the reverse fixture against Iceland the following month in April.<\/p>\n<p>And Sarina Wiegman\u2019s side play their final two qualifiers later in June against Spain and Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\/england\/youth\/mens-u21\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">England men\u2019s under-21s<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Having already made an impressive start to their UEFA U21 EURO 2027 qualifying campaign, the games continue into 2026, beginning with qualifiers against Andorra and Moldova when Lee Carsley\u2019s Young Lions\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\/articles\/2025\/Jun\/28\/england-mens-under-21s-germany-euro-final-report-20252806\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the defending champions<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 report for duty in March, with fixtures against Kazakhstan, Slovakia and the Republic of Ireland to come later in the year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\/england\/youth\/womens-u23\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">England women\u2019s under-23s<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Young Lionesses will be under new management this year, with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\/articles\/2025\/Dec\/04\/emma-coates-to-leave-england-wu23s-head-coach-role-20250412\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">head coach Emma Coates and assistant Gemma Davies departing<\/a>\u00a0to take up a new role with National Women\u2019s Soccer League club Bay FC.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\/england\/youth\/Mens-U20\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">England men\u2019s under-20s<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ben Futcher\u2019s side played a handful of internationals last year to kick off 2025-26 in front of home crowds in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\/articles\/2025\/Sep\/05\/england-mens-under-20s-italy-match-report-20250509\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chesterfield<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\/articles\/2025\/Nov\/14\/england-mens-under-20s-v-japan-match-report-20251411\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Doncaster<\/a>, and the Young Lions\u2019 fixtures for this year are yet to be confirmed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\/england\/youth\/Womens-U20\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">England women\u2019s under-20s<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lauren Smith will lead the Young Lionesses into battle at the FIFA Women\u2019s U20 World Cup this year which will be staged in Poland between 5-27 September. England, who\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\/articles\/2025\/Jun\/21\/spain-england-womens-under-19s-report-20252106\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">earned qualification at the 2025 UEFA Women\u2019s U19 EUROs<\/a>, played three internationals towards the end of 2025 as preparations for the tournament continue.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\/england\/youth\/mens-u19\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">England men\u2019s under-19s<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Will Antwi\u2019s team embark on the UEFA U19 EURO elite round qualifying in March, with England, who made it\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\/articles\/2025\/Nov\/18\/england-mens-under-19s-v-scotland-match-report-20251811\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">three wins from three<\/a>\u00a0in the first round of qualifying,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\/articles\/2025\/Dec\/10\/england-mu19s-uefa-u19-euro-draws-20251012\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">drawn into a group with Portugal, Poland and Serbia<\/a>, with the games taking place in Portugal. The team who tops the group will book their place at the U19 EURO Finals 2026 which are being hosted in Wales, running from 28 June to 11 July.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\/england\/youth\/Womens-U19\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">England women\u2019s under-19s<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Young Lionesses are hoping to book their place at the UEFA Women\u2019s U19 EURO Finals, with England\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\/articles\/2025\/Dec\/11\/england-wu19s-uefa-wu19-euro-draws-20251112\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">facing Switzerland, Wales and Latvia in round two of qualifying<\/a>, with the games taking place in Switzerland in April. The tournament itself will be hosted by Bosnia &amp; Herzegovina between 27 June to 10 July.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\/england\/youth\/mens-u18\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">England men\u2019s under-18s<\/a><\/p>\n<p>After making it to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\/articles\/2025\/Nov\/18\/england-mu18s-v-austria-fifa-u17-world-cup-report-20251811\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the last 16 at the FIFA U17 World Cup<\/a>\u00a0in Qatar in November, Neil Ryan\u2019s squad will be back in action this year, with fixtures still to be confirmed for the Young Lions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\/england\/youth\/mens-u17\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">England men\u2019s under-17s<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Liam Bramley\u2019s side are set to go head-to-head with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\/articles\/2025\/Dec\/10\/england-mu17s-uefa-u17-euro-draws-20251012\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Israel, Faroe Islands and Estonia<\/a>\u00a0in round two of UEFA U17 EURO 2026 qualifying in March at St. George\u2019s Park. However, England are unable to qualify for the U17 EURO Finals in Estonia or the 2026 FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\/england\/youth\/Womens-U17\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">England women\u2019s under-17s<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The WU17s will take on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\/articles\/2025\/Dec\/11\/england-wu17s-uefa-wu17-euro-draw-20251112\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Italy, Croatia and T\u00fcrkiye in round two of the UEFA Women\u2019s U17 EURO<\/a>, with Kerri Welsh\u2019s team winning all three of their first-round games in October. The fixtures will take place in Croatia in March, with the tournament pencilled for 3-16 May in Northern Ireland, should England top their group and qualify.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\/england\/para\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">England Para teams<\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are a number of tournaments coming up this year for our Para teams, with the Deaf women\u2019s team competing at the EUROs in March.
