The local Hamburger Abendblatt <\/a>newspaper reports that the issues holding up Hamburg keeper Daniel Peretz\u2019s move to Southampton have been fully resolved. A training strike by the Israeli international<\/a> has produced the desired effect. Peretz\u2019s parent club Bayern Munich and Hamburg have reached an agreement to terminate Peretz\u2019s loan early. Peretz\u2019s path to England stands clear.<\/p>\n

The Hanseatic paper reports that \u2013 in addition to the matter of Hamburg hoping to procure a replacement for Peretz<\/a> \u2013 Hamburg also wished to recoup the \u20ac500,000 loan fee inherent in Peretz\u2019s loan deal<\/a>. The German record champions have evidently acceded to this request, officially enabling the termination of the loan.<\/p>\n

What are the details of Daniel Peretz\u2019s Southampton loan?<\/p>\n

Sky Germany\u00a0claims that the EFL Championship club will pay Bayern a \u20ac400,000 loan fee as part of the deal. The Saints will also have to opportunity to acquire Peretz permanently via an \u20ac8m purchase option. Bayern paid Maccabi Tel Aviv \u20ac5m to acquire Peretz in August 2023. Mostly due to lack of playing time, Peretz\u2019s estimated market value has fallen from a peak of \u20ac5m to \u20ac2m over the last two-and-a-half years.<\/p>\n

How experienced a keeper are Southampton getting in Daniel Peretz?<\/p>\n

Peretz has still only made four Bundesliga appearances during his time in Germany. During the 2024\/25 campaign, the 25-year-old made three consecutive league starts in place of the injured Manuel Neuer between matchdays 13 and 15. He conceded five goals in those three fixtures.<\/p>\n

Peretz has also started on four occasions in Germany\u2019s domestic cup, including two cup starts for Hamburg this season. He made one Champions League start for Bayern during his time filling in for Neuer in December 2024.<\/p>\n

Immediately after his December auditions, Bayern acquired K\u00f6ln keeper Jonas Urbig to serve as Manuel Neuer\u2019s eventual heir<\/a> during the January 2025 transfer window.<\/p>\n
