\n\tTwo of the most storied programs in college wrestling, Iowa State and Arizona State will meet for the 43rd time on Tuesday evening. The Cyclones won last year’s meeting, 26-15, in Ames.
\n\tFormer Cyclone head coach Bobby Douglas is a member of both the Iowa State Athletics and Arizona State Hall of Fame. Douglas coached at ASU from 1975-1992 before coaching the Cyclones from 1993-2006.
\n\tBetween both schools, Douglas coached his wrestlers to 111 All-American finishes and 13 national titles.
\n\tDouglas led ISU to three runner-up finishes at the NCAA Championship (1996, 2000, 2002) and won a team national title while at Arizona State (1988). <\/p>\n

KEY STORYLINES<\/p>\n


\n\tDespite being absent five starters from the lineup,\u00a0No. 3 Iowa State rallied from an 11-point deficit at the intermission to defeat No. 24 Stanford, 20-18, Sunday in Palo Alto, California. ISU won four of the final five bouts in a dual that came down to the final match.
\n\tTop-ranked Yonger Bastida<\/a> left no doubt as he dismantled Stanford’s Jackson Mankowski, 19-4, in 3:19 to clinch the dual for Iowa State. Bastida tallied six takedowns to clinch the dual and remain unbeaten on the season. Now 12-0 on the year, Bastida owns a 49:1 takedown ratio.
\n\tIowa State is 47-14 in Big 12 duals under head coach Kevin Dresser<\/a>, including a 19-4 mark in the last three seasons. The Cyclones are 7-1\u00a0in Big 12 dual openers under Dresser.
\n\tIowa State is in the midst of a\u00a010-day road trip. The Cyclones flew to Phoenix immediately following their win at\u00a0Stanford and\u00a0will stay in Arizona after\u00a0their\u00a0dual against the Sun Devils. ISU will\u00a0fly\u00a0north\u00a0to Fargo on Friday\u00a0for a Sunday dual against North Dakota State (Jan. 11) before returning home.
\n\tThe western road trip gives several Cyclones an opportunity to compete in their home state.\u00a0Outside of Iowa (11), California (4) and Arizona (3) are the most represented states on the Iowa State roster. Tuesday, 133-pounder Adrian Meza<\/a> will get the opportunity to compete in his home state of Arizona.
\n\tCyclone 165-pounder Aiden Riggins<\/a> has appeared in the lineup at 165 and 174 pounds this season. He is\u00a02-1\u00a0when wrestling up a weight class at 174 pounds.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
