\n\tWhile walking the carpet at the Palm Springs Film Festival, The Chronology of Water<\/a>\u00a0helmer was asked by Entertainment Tonight<\/a> if she\u2019d ever feel inclined to revisit one of her past projects from behind the camera lens, like Twilight.<\/p>\n

\n\tStewart, whose child acting career entered a new stratosphere after the release of the 2008 film based on the popular Stephenie Meyer novel series, praised each filmmaker\u2019s respective movies (in order: Catherine Hardwicke\u2019s original, Chris Weitz\u2019s New Moon, David Slade\u2019s Eclipse and Bill Condon, who tackled the two-part Breaking Dawn installments).<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI love what all of the directors did with the movies,\u201d the Oscar nominee said, \u201cbut they were so themselves and weird and kind of squirrelly and just so present in that time when they didn\u2019t really know what they were yet, before they blew up.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe continued, ideating and later convinced: \u201cI know; imagine if we had a huge budget and a bunch of love and support, I don\u2019t know. I would love to readapt\u2014yeah, sure, I\u2019ll do the remake. I\u2019m doing it, I\u2019m committed.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCertainly, there would be an appetite for the redux: Fathom Entertainment\u2019s re-release of\u00a0Summit<\/a>\/Lionsgate<\/a>\u2018s\u00a0Twilight \u2014 a movie marathon reissue<\/a> tied to the first book\u2019s 20th anniversary \u2014 posted $1.55 million at the box office<\/a> in its first day around Halloween. An established annual rewatch staple, YouTube also streamed the movies for free on its platform<\/a> in the leadup to the theatrical re-release. Broadly speaking, the entirety of the big-screen franchise is among the most financially successful YA properties, grossing north of $3.3 billion at the global box office.<\/p>\n
