\nBrewer reached 1,000 career points with his first basket of the night, a transition layup in the opening minutes of the contest. The Indianapolis native paced Western Michigan (6-9, 0-3 MAC) in scoring with 19 points, and narrowly missed out on a double-double with a team-high nine rebounds.

\nJoining Brewer in double-figures for the Broncos were Justice Williams<\/a>, who netted 14 points off of the bench, and Jalen Griffith<\/a>, who tallied 10 points. Carson Vis<\/a> posted nine points and five rebounds, with Max Burton<\/a> contributing eight points and six boards.

\nMiami (16-0, 4-0) built a 13-6 edge in the early stages of the contest. The Broncos countered with a 9-3 stretch, capped by a Brewer old-fashioned, three-point play, to close the gap to one, 16-15. The RedHawks slowly built their lead back to seven, 31-24, but WMU whittled it down to a 39-35 deficit at halftime. \u00a0

\nThe Broncos started the second half with back-to-back three-pointers by Trey Lewis<\/a> and Griffith to take their first lead of the night, 41-39. Miami went back ahead a few minutes later, tallying seven straight points to grab a 48-43 edge. At 52-47, the hosts used a 7-2 spurt to push the margin into double-figures, 59-49. A 12-4 push then gave the RedHawks their biggest cushion of the night, 74-57, and they led by double-digits for the remainder of the evening.

\nWMU connected on 42.4 percent (28-of-66) from the floor for the evening, while Miami shot 50.0 percent (27-of-54).
