\n\tTuesday marked the fifth anniversary of Donald Trump<\/a>\u2018s supporters storming of the U.S. Capitol<\/a> on Jan. 6<\/a>. Despite videos and evidence to the contrary, the White House<\/a> changed their website<\/a> to claim that the Democrats \u201cstaged the real insurrection by certifying a fraud-ridden election.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJimmy Kimmel<\/a> took aim at Trump\u2019s administration last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/a>, accusing them of creating a \u201crevisionist history.\u201d Kimmel reminded the audience that five years ago Trump \u201ctried to overthrow our government in a pathetic and illegal attempt to stay in the White House,\u201d calling the event a \u201cviolent and deadly riot.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThere\u2019s no other way to put it,\u201d he said. \u201cYou cannot look at the facts objectively and come to any conclusion other than that\u2026 It was a selfish, disgraceful, tyrannical, and dangerous act. And I think it\u2019s very important that we do not forget that. That we don\u2019t give in to this revisionist history.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tKimmel affirmed, \u201cFive years ago, we saw proof live in front of our eyes that the American president is as un-American as they come.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe late-night host shared the details of the White House\u2019s new version of events. \u201cThey actually wrote this,\u201d Kimmel said. \u201cAnd they go on to praise Trump for pardoning all the \u2018patriotic trespassers\u2019 and \u2018peaceful protesters.’\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tHe noted that the official plaque that was commissioned to honor the law enforcement officers who defended the Capitol has vanished. \u201cMike Johnson, the Squeaker of the House, refused to hang the plaque,\u201d Kimmel said. \u201cMike Pence, they were okay with hanging. The plaque, no. And not only didn\u2019t they put the plaque up, it is now missing. It\u2019s nowhere to be found.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tKimmel quipped, \u201cNot only is today the anniversary of the insurrection, it\u2019s also the anniversary of the second biggest mistake Trump ever made. It\u2019s Eric\u2019s birthday today.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tElsewhere in his monologue, Kimmel took aim at Trump\u2019s meeting with Republicans at the Kennedy Center and the president setting his sights<\/a> on Greenland. He closed the segment with a fake advertisement for Trump\u2019s latest product: a commemorative set of plates memorializing Jan. 6. <\/p>\n
