{"id":227389,"date":"2026-01-08T14:57:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-08T14:57:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/227389\/"},"modified":"2026-01-08T14:57:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-08T14:57:08","slug":"lageyre-signs-professional-contract-with-angel-city-in-nwsl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/227389\/","title":{"rendered":"Lageyre Signs Professional Contract with Angel City in NWSL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LOS ANGELES, Calif. \u2013 Duke women&#8217;s soccer graduate <a href=\"https:\/\/goduke.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/carina-lageyre\/21878\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"21878\" target=\"_blank\">Carina Lageyre<\/a> signed her first professional contract this week with Angel City Football Club (ACFC) of the National Women&#8217;s Soccer League (NWSL).<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nLageyre, who hails from Cooper City, Florida, signed a three-year deal.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n&#8220;Since my first meeting with Mark [Parsons] and Alex [Straus], I was excited about their vision for the future for this organization and I am extremely thankful to be part of it,&#8221; said Lageyre. &#8220;I chose Angel City because I want to develop in a competitive training environment with a strong fan base. This team provides all the resources for us to be successful and I&#8217;m looking forward to making this city proud.&#8221;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nOne of the top midfielders in collegiate soccer over the last three years, Lageyre appeared in 65 matches and started 59.\u00a0 She scored six goals, including three game-winners, added 12 assists and logged 3,962 minutes.\u00a0 Lageyre helped lead Duke to 56 wins and back-to-back NCAA College Cup appearances in 2024 and 2025.\u00a0 She started her final 58 matches in a row to conclude her Blue Devil career.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n&#8220;Carina is a fantastic young talent from one of the top college programs in the country, while also having significant U.S. Youth National Team experience,&#8221; said ACFC Sporting Director Mark Parsons. &#8220;Carina is a highly intelligent midfielder who can control games through her positional play and passing game which is rare.
