The soundtrack to director Baz Luhrmann\u2019s upcoming EPiC: Elvis Presley<\/a> Live in Concert film will be released by Sony\u2019s Legacy Recordings and RCA Records on Feb. 20. The 27-track collection of songs heard in the film will feature a combination of updated remixes of signature live recordings alongside new remixes and medleys of classic songs from Presley, including Jamieson Shaw remixes of \u201cIn the Ghetto\u201d and \u201cLove Me\u201d and a PNAU remix of \u201cDon\u2019t Fly Away.\u201d<\/p>\n

The soundtrack will drop on the same day as the theatrical premiere of the movie that will have a one-week exclusive IMAX run, which will be followed by a global theatrical release from NEON and Universal Pictures on Feb. 27. According to a release, during the making of his 2022 Elvis biopic, Luhrmann and his team found a treasure trove of long-hidden film negatives and footage in the Warner Brothers vault from the Elvis docs Elvis: The Way It Is (a chronicle of the rock icon\u2019s August 1970 Las Vegas residency) and Elvis On Tour (which captured the singer\u2019s 1972 U.S. tour), in addition to never-before-seen 8mm footage and never-before-heard audio of Elvis musing about his life.<\/p>\n

After years spent restoring the material with the help of Oscar nominee Jonathan Redmond (Elvis) and Peter Jackson\u2019s Park Road Post Production team and others, Luhrmann said in a statement that what they discovered \u2014\u00a0apart from another example of Presley\u2019s \u201ciconic, one-of -a-kind performance energy\u201d \u2014\u00a0was a fuller picture of Elvis \u201ctotally at ease on stage, able to feel the true love of his fans and communicate himself with an intimacy and humanity, unlike any other artist.\u201d The news about the soundtrack came on the day Elvis \u2014\u00a0who died on Aug. 16, 1977 at age 42 \u2014\u00a0would have turned 91.<\/p>\n

Luhrmann\u2019s 2022 Elvis grossed more than $288 million worldwide and is No. 2 on Billboard\u2018s list of the highest-grossing music biopics of all-time<\/a>.<\/p>\n
