\n\tPlimsoll Productions<\/a>, the division of ITV Studios specializing in natural history documentaries and live events, has launched Plimsoll Immersive to develop experiential content for AR, VR and AI wearables. <\/p>\n

\n\tPlimsoll Immersive\u2019s content will incorporate original ideas as well as the company\u2019s existing intellectual property into new experiences. Narratively and conceptually, the content will maintain Plimsoll\u2019s natural history focus, immersing audiences in 2D and 3D environments via advanced technology. <\/p>\n

\n\tAccordingly, Plimsoll\u2019s creative director of natural history, Alex Ranken, will lead Plimsoll Immersive while continuing to make content for broadcast television. Over his past five years with Plimsoll, Ranken has directed and produced several series and specials, including Apple\u2019s \u201cTiny World\u201d and \u201cThe Wild Ones,\u201d Disney+\u2019s \u201cA Real Bug\u2019s Life\u201d and ITV\u2019s \u201cA Year on Planet Earth.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cPlimsoll has a reputation\u00a0for visually rich, bold storytelling and editorial integrity,\u201d Ranken said in a statement. \u201cWe are now applying those elements in this exciting new world, allowing\u00a0audiences\u00a0to be\u00a0immersed in the story, which\u00a0ultimately fosters deeper connections and engagement with the natural world.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMark Brownlow, head of natural history at Plimsoll, added, \u201cPlimsoll has always looked to the future and Alex represents what comes next \u2014 a next-generation creator whose innovative storytelling and command of technology make him the perfect fit to grow this division and propel the company into an exciting new space. Alex will build on Plimsoll\u2019s experience in 3D storytelling which has already seen the recent release of\u00a0\u2018Horse Power,\u2019\u00a0a 3D IMAX film.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHorse Power\u201d is a documentary about the relationships between people and horses around the globe, narrated by Josh Brolin. Other upcoming Plimsoll projects include \u201cSurviving Pompeii with Tom Hiddleston,\u201d\u00a0\u201cForce of Nature\u201d and \u201cSkyscraper Live,\u201d which will livestream free soloist Alex Honnold\u2019s ascent of Taipei 101 on Netflix.<\/p>\n
